I'm back home now, they took most of the kneecap away and wired remains to the fibula before attaching tendons to the remaining kneecap.... Hurts like he'll at present now General Anaesthetic has worn off, and the femoral block has worn off.

New G+ Photos rolling out today!!!

Not too long ago, I met a woman through a user study who moved over from Taiwan with her 2 daughters. She’s been documenting their lives and sharing pictures out to friends and family. I asked her if she felt that her photos were safe. She responded, “Very much so! All 10,000+ of my photos are on this laptop!” - which she told me earlier was purchased 9 years ago when she first arrived in the States.

This of course alarmed me! While most consumers have their email, music library etc. stored in the cloud, what’s evergreen - your lifetime's worth of memories - are stranded on cameras, phones and computers.

There are some AWESOME new tools for photos being rolled out this afternoon, including Skin Softening, Structure, Tonal distribution, white balance and many, many more.

Owww it really hurts

I'm still here sat on the sofa, leg in the air, Knee still broken in half... I get up in the morning and move slowly (no really slowly) to the sofa where I spend the day until bedtime, when I move slowly back to bed.. BORED

If any Google staff want to send me something to cheer me up and keep my spirits lifted who am I to stop them :)

Maryhill Stonehenge Replica

Barn Owl - Looking for Love!!

We are seeing an increased amount of Barn Owls and Birds of Prey down here in Somerset recently, I know where a couple of nests are, and will be staking them out soon. For now here is an awesome image from Max Rinaldi.

How Much Guv'nor!!!

I've just been looking at some days out with the family in August, I thin the attractions in London will not be getting a visit from us .... £103.05 for a family of 5 to go and look at some large candles.... you're 'avin a laugh aint ya?

Seriously I advise anyone visiting the UK to avoid these tourist trap attractions. They are quite clearly a rip off and hardly what I call value for money.

However a lot of the museums are FREE to get into such as The Tate Modern, Natural History Museum, Science Museum.

The knee a week on

I'm seeing the surgeon in the morning, hopefully we'll be going cast or splint route. But they may operate to wire the knee.

The swellings gone done a lot and the bruising is on the retreat now.

Mount St Michael

Mont Saint-Michel is a rocky tidal island 247 acres (100 ha) in size, and is a commune in Normandy, France. It is located approximately one kilometre (just over half a mile) off the country's northwestern coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches.

What I was up to last week

No, it's not Friday, it's Tuesday but I was at two tech conferences last week, #nextconf in Berlin and #tnw2013 conference in Amsterdam for #nextweb so I wasn't able to do my post last Friday.

Sherborne Abbey Monument
I took this image on Saturday, the Monument is a memorial to George Digby who provided a lot of funding for renovation work during the 19th century. It was built in 1884 and features statues of St Aldhelm, Bishop Roger of Salisbury (Roger de Caen), Abbot Bradford and Sir Walter Raleigh.

Inside Sherborne Abbey

This image is one I took yesterday of the inside of the Abbey at Sherborne, Dorset, UK. The inside is vastly impressive with superb architecture  just take a look at the roof.

Here is the superb view inside Sherborne Abbey in Dorset, UK. The Great East Window was designed by Clayton and Bell and installed in 1856–58. It features the Apostles Mark, Luke, Matthew and John, and Saints Sidwell and Juthware (Juthwara), who is featured in the Sherborne Missal.

I popped over to Sherborne this afternoon to see my good mate +Paul Stickland and his lovely wife +Helen Stickland, whilst there I took the opportunity to capture the elegant Sherborne abbey.

Meteor Shower over the Point Sur Lighthouse

Two nights ago I went out to shoot the meteors while here in Big Sur, California.  I woke up at a painful 3 AM to get out there.  I saw a bunch of shooting stars but didn't get any good photos of them.  If you are able to get a good meteor photo, then in my book, you are either a god or really lucky!

I did manage to get what you see below -- the lighthouse shining its light on the left and the car coming over the hills on the right.

I used to visit the village as a child with my mother's Aunt and would often stop here and feed the ducks. Once the evening has settled in it looks so picturesque with the Plough Inn lit up and reflecting in the still water. A perfect English village scene.

Perfect end to a reasonable day

Here is my pride and joy, Cleo, mum to Millie and Wilbur our other two hounds.... Cleo Loves nothing more than lazing around in the sunshine, her coat simply glows at the moment. 

She is so bloody awkward to get an image of her face, every time you try she moves her head.. she literally is quite a bitch :)

Inside St Giles Church - Bradford on Tone
The early 18th century pulpit is believed to have come from St Marys in Taunton. Monuments include that to the Easton family of land surveyors and engineers prominent locally in the 19th century.

The three-stage west tower was added in the early 16th century, but the church was re-roofed 1858-9 and restored in 1867.

Prepare to faint...

It's a blue sky day out there... OMG!!! we've not seen blue sky here for ohhh at least 3 months.

So we went out and made the most of it. I had to go to a wedding fair, but when I got home, I went to the garden and took this image of a Bee (i think it's a Bee!!!), they were all out collecting goodies from the flowers today

I was in town snapping away as you do, when I saw this guy just standing in the high street, I approached him and asked if it was ok to take his photo, which he agreed to. What attracted me to a complete stranger?

His super purple hair of course, I thought It would look great as a black and white with the colour restored to his hair.

Back in December we launched full-size backups of your Android photos (http://goo.gl/coFZ7). Today we're making it possible upload full-size photos from your desktop -- whether you're updating your profile photo, creating a new album to share, or backing up pictures from a recent vacation.

To enable full-size desktop uploads, just visit your settings at www.google.com/settings/plus, and check "Upload my photos at full size." Afterwards, any files larger than 2048px will count towards your Google storage (up to 5GB free). Photo storage at 2048px or smaller remains free and unlimited.
