Ole Olson58,270It has come to light that Google has started funding and supporting some of the most vile right wing extremist collectives and corporate front groups in America. Join us by changing your avatar and boycotting every single Google service for one day in protest.  *On Wednesday, December 11th make a serious attempt to not use anything Google.* No Google Searches. Weaving adventures, continued.

I have beamed the warp (i.e, have it wrapped on the back beam, in what purports to be orderly fashion with the cross intact.  And I did it without breaking a thread this time

Now I get to do things like do the heddles and finally get to do the countermarch tie up for the first time.

Anxious about doing all this? Who, me?  LOL.    If you can make a newbee mistake at warping a loom, I have done it with this baby...

Now, with the blocking of access to many of the spaces commonly used to protest, participants will have to find space elsewhere—no easy feat considering how few public spaces to gather will be free during the time period surrounding the inauguration.
Mara Verheyden-Hilliard, executive director of the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund, said in a press conference for the Answer (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition, said that she’s worked on court battles for protest access on inauguration before, but this instance is “extremely unique” in that it banned access to public land (which Answer Coalition’s press release notes, are “historic spaces for dissent”) for protesters days after the inauguration.___

Advisers to President-elect Donald Trump are developing plans to reshape Energy Department programs, help keep aging nuclear plants online and identify staff who played a role in promoting President Barack Obama’s climate agenda.

The transition team has asked the agency to list employees and contractors who attended United Nations climate meetings, along with those who helped develop the Obama administration’s social cost of carbon metrics, used to estimate and justify the climate benefits of new rules. The advisers are also seeking information on agency loan programs, research activities and the basis for its statistics, according to a five-page internal document circulated by the Energy Department on Wednesday. The document lays out 65 questions from the Trump transition team, sources within the agency said.

quote: Therefore, the researchers’ next step was to understand the relative importance of ice sheet, ocean and atmospheric feedbacks. They discovered that greenhouse gases had an important role in controlling climate. In particular atmospheric carbon dioxide had to be low enough for the planet to start cooling before it could tip into an ice age.

So how can all this help us understand future climate? One idea is that small increases in greenhouse gases due to the expansion of agriculture that started 8,000 years ago have in fact delayed the next ice age. What’s more, if we continue emitting greenhouse gases at the same rate, we might have put off the next ice age for at least half a million years.
