Thunderbolt Dilemma
I have a 2012 Macbook Pro (non-retina, one Thunderbolt port) that I use with a Samsung DVI monitor.  I also have a Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt capture device, which only has one Thunderbolt port.  Outside of hooking up the monitor via USB (which I've tried, small latency issues), is there any way for me to connect both the Thunderbolt device (remember only one port) and the external (non-Apple) monitor at the same time?

Microphone Help
I am just getting ready to start producing my first podcast and am trying to decide what microphones/mixer to buy.  One other guy and I will likely be sitting either on a couch or at a table.  We also want the capability to have one or two additional guests in studio.

First question, XLR mics or USB mics and why?

Second question, what's your recommendation for microphones and/or a mixer given our setup?  Budget is a factor, but we do want excellent audio quality.

+Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ's post about a new +TWiT programming show got me thinking about +Leo Laporte's old role as Dev Null on MSNBC.  I just happen to come across this clip on YouTube, which ends (05:30 mark) with Leo singing "So Happy Together" with The Turtles' keyboardist Andy Cahan.

I found it pretty entertaining, thought you might too.

Would You Pay for Google Reader?
+Google I'll pay $5/month for access to the Google Reader service.  Or throw some ads in a column on the right to help monetize it (you have them everywhere else).  Before throwing it in the garbage, let's try to find a way to make this massively popular product work for all of us.

I'm considering using different style sheets based on the user's time of day in my latest project. I don't really see any websites that do this, but think it would be a nice touch to have a dark-themed site for night and lighter theme for daytme, particularly for mobile users.  What do you think?  Am I foolish?

How Netflix and YouTube want to take on AirPlay
I'd love to see an open standard emerge that is very similar to AirPlay, but think they're making a mistake by not including mirroring options from your devices.  Mirroring my Mac and iPad music and movies to the big screen is the only reason I own an AppleTV.

Sonos Now Plays Music Direct from iOS Devices
Nice little update from Sonos today.  You no longer need an iPod dock to play the music stored on your iPhone or iPad.  No wonder the dock has been discontinued.
