Yesterday I noticed my feed was a bit blah, so I went through my circles and got rid of some dead wood. Today it seems much more active. Google+ must be filtering what I see versus what people in my circles actually post. Not too thrilled about that.

Chris nails what I have been saying about the IRS scandal. The problem isn't that the IRS went after conservative groups, it's the whole stinking system. So these so-called public-interests groups are nothing but fronts for political money laundering. We should just abolish the whole concept of non-profits.

Oregon woman calls 911 to say her ex-boyfriend, wanted by the police, is trying to break into her house. Dispatcher says that due to recent budget cuts, the police no longer respond to emergencies during evenings or weekends. Ex-boyfriend eventually breaks in and rapes her.

According to a State Dept Cable on Wikileaks, the US gov has vastly exaggerated the cyber attacks from China's military. The fact of the matter is the Chinese military network is subject to overseas hacker attacks all the time, so the US being attacked by hackers is hardly unique or unusual.

Here's a great idea:
Police officers must pass a national certification test to be employed. Like the bar exam for attorneys, their certification can be revoked if they are discovered to be involved in unethical situations.

Why would this be important? You know that officer that pulled you over last week? Was he fired for corrupt actions in another state? How do you know?

Our police force has very little oversight. They can get away with murder. Literally. A test is required to be a nurse, lawyer, doctor, and even a real estate agent. Why shouldn't so called "officers" be required to do something similar?

Wow, talk about raising the bar. Flickr now offering 1 terabyte of free photo storage, that's 66 times more than Google offers for free. To get the same amount of photo space from Google it costs $600/year.

This solar hot water heater is going for between $100 and $200 depending on the quantity you buy. That is amazing. A decade ago a similar system would cost upwards of  3 or 4 times that amount. I am not selling these, just blown away by how cheap they have gotten.
