It's been ages since I posted any new images on Google+, mainly due to the fact that I have been flat out busy working on side projects. I'm going to find the time to share some of my recent photos with you guys. Here's one taken on a very surreal evening on the Coffs Coast, NSW Australia. The storm front was moving in from the east towards the coastline, just in time for some twilight magic.
Disclaimer: This is a composite image of 2 manually blended exposures in Photoshop CS6. The base exposure for the foreground, clouds and overall scene was taken just on dusk as the magenta hues and blues appeared. I shot this foreground exposure earlier to capture enough detail in the moving water and to freeze the clouds. Roughly half hour after I shot the second exposure for the stars. There were stars starting to appear when the first exposure was taken, but there weren't as many as I... more »

More kelp from my last snorkel in the ocean before the floods ruined the water and made it all murky and yuck! I look forward to getting back out in the ocean with the new fisheye and dome port while the water is still warm.
Please feel free to share this image, I really do appreciate your feedback and support. Thanks everyone!

It's aways inspiring to find that other people are inspired enough to blog your work. Here's one I found while doing a google search for a location.

1/1/2013 - My first seascape photo outing in forever, it's been well over 4 months since I took any coastal photos. It sure as hell felt great to get back out there doing what I first fell in love with when I picked up the camera.
Emerald Beach - Mid North Coast - New South Wales, Australia.
Please feel free to share this post around. I appreciate all the feedback and support!

'Nature's Essence'
Dorrigo World Heritage National Park - New South Wales, Australia.
Magnificent tall trees line the entire walk through Dorrigo National Park, while lush green tree ferns fill the forest floor. This is another rainforest wonder that I discovered along my journey through the park. To capture the true essence of this scene I was out walking in the intermittent rain and mist, taking my chances when it eased before each heavy downpour started again. It's all just a matter of getting out there amongst the wilderness, and feeling the earth beneath your feet, this is when the artist herself, Mother Nature creates her most beautiful and raw moments.

I have had a few tweaks and redesigns done to my website to bring it up to date and make it a bit sharper. The main changes are banner, logo, navigation, fonts, added footer, social network icons, search option and background uplift.
Check out the new design for yourself www.drewhopperphotography.com
Enjoy!

Natural Bridge - Springbrook National Park, Queensland Australia.
First image for 2013 taken on the the 1st of January. For the past couple years I have made this location a new year ritual to shoot, mainly due to the fact that I like to avoid the crazy festive season motorway back from Queensland into New South Wales. This way takes me through Numinbah Valley past Springbrook National Park, and we always stop off at Natural Bridge to cool off and rejuvenate in the forest. It's so beautiful to hear the calls of paradise riflebirds, green catbirds and wompoo fruit-doves after being enveloped by the concrete jungle in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.
So far it is definitely my all time favourite waterfall I have visited in Australia. It's just a shame it happens to be thousands of tourists stop off as well, then again I'm a tourist in Queensland too.
