Not much new, other than adding some Grandt Lines nuts and bolt details, and a little more gunkifying with brown ink.

Still need to add all the lenses to the front, glue down the rear cannon platform, weather the tires, add air hoses and other details to the back of the cab.

More Progress on Rig Mortis - Getting close!

I managed to get some more scratchbuilding and painting done last night, and glued a few more pieces into place.  I want to add more eventually, but I'm getting pretty close to calling this one FFN (finished for now) Getting antsy to move on to another project.

A mid-project shot of my Vampire Hunter, "Rig Mortis"
This project is my real return to scale modeling, and went full bore with tons of scratchbuilding.  In the past, all I built were shiny Hotrods, so this one has been different for me, to say the least.

Build details include:
- "Stake Cannons" scratched from styrene, solder, aluminum tubing, vinyl hose, & guitar strings
- Rear cannon platform built with sheet styrene, plastruct angle stock
- Rear fenders scratchbuilt with sheet styrene and rod
- Window armor cladding is styrene, guitar string for the bars, backed by wire mesh

A good bit more painting to do, but hope to be finished soon.

Rig Mortis (A Work In Progress)

A sneak peek at my Vampire Hunter project, Rig Mortis.  It's based off the Revell 1/25 scale Peterbilt 359, but has heavy modifications and scratchbuilt items.  Still need to design some weaponry or ram device for the grill area, and a lot more painting and weathering.

Hi all, new to the community and just wanted to introduce myself.  I've "played" casually and just for fun for several years, but have recently started a new band/project - also for fun, but hope to gig at some point.  I also recently wandered into fretless territory with the purchase of a Squire Vintage Modified (Jaco B.O.D. knockoff - not pictured) - unfortunately the truss rod is shot, so I replaced it with my first Warwick  - which is pictured below.  My #1, however, is my neck-thru Schecter Stiletto Studio 4 named Betty, dressed in black and strung with DR Red Devils for tone and bling.. (dig through my music gear album if you're bored)
I play classic rock, blues, metal, funk-rock, and just piddle with sounds in general.

Anyway, glad to be here, and hopefully can contribute something along the way.

A little project that I recently started.  This build started as the Revell 1:25 scale Peterbilt, and will eventually become a post-apocalyptic Mad Max style vehicle.  This video shows the beginning stages of the build and goes over some drybrushing and thoughts on scratchbuilding.

A work in progress - 1968 Pontiac Firebird. (Some preliminary photos of my "Return to Modeling" project.)

I've been out of scale models since the mid 90's and have just started to get back into the hobby.  This Firebird kit was originally slated to be a replica of my real 68 'bird, but decided to just detail it, weather it, and place it in a "project car" diorama scene.  I may attempt the actual replica build with another kit after I source more parts.

Make it go BOOM
So, I just had to step it up (again) on my Bass rig.  Up until now, I've been playing through small-medium practice amps.  And, that's fine.... but having to cut through a drummer and two 100+ watt guitar half-stacks was working my practice rig just a little too hard for my liking.

So, to deal with that (and to finally get a "real" rig)  I ordered a Behringer 450w head, & 4x10" cab
