My personal favorite Disruptive Technology
What a stunningly simple, yet fabulous idea!
Solar Roadways (sidewalks, parking lots, etc.) would:
- create energy
- be simpler to maintain - switching panels is much faster than ripping up and replacing tarmac
- reduce the need for oil, both by eliminating the oil-based asphalt and by enabling charging stations for electric vehicles just about anywhere
- eliminate problems of salting or even shoveling roads because they would have to have built-in heating sources

Based on a number of criteria, +McKinsey & Company have identified 12 Disruptive Technologies that they believe have the potential to seriously influence the developments of the world by the year 2025. The criteria used to identify these technologies:
