FYI for anyone traveling to or from SFO, Alex and I flew 2 weekends in a row and experienced 3 hour delays getting back to SF from LA and Charlotte. The pilot stated it was a consequence of the sequester. Check your flight delays before heading to the airport if you're traveling to and from SF. Both times we were stuck in sad airport land for no good reason.

Even if you’re a fan of animated gifs—say you were the first to email your friends the slow loris very slowly eating a rice ball (goo.gl/KDDX1)—you may not know that the origins of animation go as far back as 1879 and Eadweard Muybridge’s “zoopraxiscope” (see our doodle homage to Muybridge: goo.gl/PGQW3). Gifs have been around since 1987 and have become the de facto standard for short animations on the web, from pony glitter text (goo.gl/iZoEZ) to grumpy cat memes (goo.gl/bC9um).

Starting today, there’s an easier way to unearth those gems: when you do an image search, click on “Search tools” below the search box, then select “Animated” under the “Any type” dropdown box.

We’ve also added a second handy filter: if you’re after the perfect picture of Easter basket clipart (goo.gl/XutAa) but must have one with a transparent background, simply select“Transparent” under the “Any ... more »

Tons of 90s in the sale today. This is one of the better albums from that decade. I could personally do without ever hearing Korn again :P

A few of my faves are on sale on Google Play today for about $4.

First, The Head and the Heart:
The songs on this album have a lot going on, but I find myself coming back like a bad habit. On first listen (actually a live set), it seemed like each track could easily be broken into two or more songs, but as an album it kind of works. Kenny Hensley, the band's very talented pianist, holds it all together for me.

They also put on a fun and energetic live show. See them if you get a chance.
