Back in March I spoke in Paris France on how startups can leverage early adopters and get their first press coverage, and just how you can find these first advocates for your product. I talked about +feedly and used examples from +Caleb Elston and others who were part of my ongoing coverage on +louisgray.com. Now the video is finally here and posted to the blog. It's been a while since +Barry Schwartz said I had a "Weird Android Obsession" - almost 18 months. (http://goo.gl/cm83G) Now, looking back at that original photo almost seems quaint, because more and more great stuff comes from the +Android team and +Andrew Bell. My wife and I spent a good part of the afternoon on the latest upgrade, which adds shelves, the Lucky Cat collection, and gets us prepped for Series 4.

In my house growing up, it was my mom (+Terrie Gray) who bought the computers, signed us up for the first online services, and installed the modem. She taught the computers course at my elementary school, and she later started an online community and later sold it to an educational startup. But that's still the exception.

While I've been excited to see so many incredible women participating in our regular +GDL series called Women Techmakers, there's much more to go. Here's a good story on some of the efforts Google is making to encourage and empower women in tech, featuring comments from the exceptional +Megan Smith.

Via +Jelena Jovanovic today, I stumbled upon Automatic.com, a new gadget that will help you track and optimize your driving behavior through data analysis and simplifying the information with the help of a smartphone app. I bought one immediately. This falls in line with my year-long use of +Fitbit, and the acquisition of a Nest thermostat, which has us saving hundreds of dollars already.

Knowledge is power. Knowledge based on data that makes your life better is incredible. I'm excited about more apps and gadgets that help me live better and more efficiently.

Google's newest employee is my awe-inspiring mother, +Nada Miljkovic. She's joining the Google X team as a hardware test engineer and PCB designer, starting June 3.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_x) Here's to more mother-daughter teams in engineering! And here's my shameless pride -- the referral I wrote for Mom:
