So I've been waiting for this huge packet (I know, twss) for two effin months now.
They tried to deliver it today during the only 90 minutes I've been out the door for the entire day.
Sometimes I think they're standing down there, with binoculars, waiting for people to leave their home. Especially if it's a really, really big, unhandy package and the recipient doesn't own a car, but will have to go get the package on foot and via public transport. The BASTIDS!!! ;D
No, but seriously.

Self-Healing Concrete Researchers have demonstrated a way to give concrete surfaces the ability to heal when small cracks appear, an advance that could allow bridges and other structures to last longer.
The new coating contains polymer microcapsules, filled with a solution that, when exposed to light, turns into a water-resistant solid. The idea is that damage to a coated concrete surface would cause the capsules to break open and release the solution, which then would fill the crack and solidify in sunlight.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of the coating, the researchers sprayed it on the surface of concrete samples, and used razor blades to apply small cracks. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed that the razor blade caused the microcapsules to release their contents, which filled the damaged area. I've been meaning to make one of these since...it feels like since forever.
I tried playing on at Vinden Drar, a festival for traditional, wooden boats that is held each summer somewhere around Scandinavia (this year it makes its home in the Danish city _Middelfart <giggles> read more about it here: http://www.vinden-drar.org/ ) and I absolutely loved it. I would of course love to have one made in a more traditional way, but for practicing, this should be fine.
The one I tried was made from a plastic pipe too, but was beautifully decorated with hide and fringes and stuff.

So this just happened - this is very close to where I live, but I am really glad this isn't my subdivision. When I drove by it earlier today, I thought SPIDER WEBS but no... it's not. When I went there not 15 minutes ago I discovered (to my dismay, I'll admit, I think I'd have rather it have been spiders) it was green inchworms!
Just what in the hell is going on here?! I've lived here many years and I've never seen it like this. It's a veritable boom of whatever species this is.

Visited Louisiana museum of art today to see what they had on. Thoroughly enjoyed Tara Donovan and her sculptures. They were so fun and so very different. The shape was like taken out of space, yet organic in some way. It was fun to guess the material before looking at the sign to see if we'd guessed correctly.
