While U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is being mentioned across the nation as a possible candidate for president in 2016, he wants Kentuckians to know that he plans to seek re-election as a senator that year.
Paul, before speaking at a Woodford County Republican dinner Friday night at Midway College, told reporters that he will seek re-election to the Senate.

Obama's Bloody Recipe for More Benghazis
Gird your loins, America. President Obama intends to empty out Guantanamo Bay and send scores of suspected Muslim terror operatives back to their jihadist-coddling native countries. Goaded by anti-war activists and soft-on-terror attorneys (including those from Attorney General Eric Holder's former private law firm), Obama announced Thursday that he'll lift a ban on sending up to 90 Yemeni detainees home and will initiate other stalled transfers out of the compound.

Holder involved in decision to ask for search warrant for reporter's private emails
If you lose the support of CNN, you know you're in trouble if you're a Democrat.
Attorney General Eric Holder was involved in the Justice Department's decision to seek a search warrant for Fox News reporter James Rosen's private e-mails, a Justice official told CNN.
The decision to apply for the search warrant was vetted at the department's highest levels, including Holder, the official said, although the decision to issue a warrant was made by a federal magistrate judge.

8 Ways to Discover Your Passion and Live a Life You Love
“Don’t worry about what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~Howard Thurman
I didn’t spend two years and $100,000 for a master’s degree in counseling from an Ivy League university so that I could be miserable and hate my life 50 hours a week, but that’s what happened.

Overcoming the impossibility of amazing
If you set your bar at "amazing," it's awfully difficult to start.
Your first paragraph, sketch, formula, sample or concept isn't going to be amazing. Your tenth one might not be either.
Confronted with the gap between your vision of perfect and the reality of what you've created, the easiest path is no path. Shrug. Admit defeat. Hit delete.
I agree wholeheartedly with Seth, who concludes:
Of course, the only path to amazing runs directly through not-yet-amazing. But not-yet-amazing is a great place to start, because that's where you are. For now.
Just get started. After that you can always try to improve whatever it is you're working on.

Turkish Parliament adopts alcohol restrictions, bans sale between 10 pm and 6 am
Freedom, what's that? Turkey's heading in the wrong direction.
Parliament’s General Assembly has adopted a highly controversial alcohol bill proposed by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), tightening restrictions on the sale and advertising of alcoholic beverages, despite strong objections against the bill on the grounds of personal freedom and respect for lifestyle choices.
The proposal was swiftly put on the agenda, despite the protests from the opposition, and was eventually adopted early in the morning of May 24 following debates which ran on past midnight. The AKP has acted remarkably fast in bringing the legislative package to the agenda of Parliament’s General Assembly, within a period of a mere two days.

When (and If) You Should Ever Work For Free
Good point. The only 'but' is: what if you simply don't have a lot of time to spend? My answer: than work for free less often than someone else, but still do it every now and then.
I honor and pay fealty to your right to maintain your own sets of career principles and yourown agreements with yourselves. But I’d like to point out that doing a thing for free might often be in your best interests and, if you have your basic financial bases covered like bills, food, and savings, doing things for free could be good for your financial and your emotional bottom lines. Actually, there are many times doing a thing for free could be… well, profitable.

The Anti-Anti-Austerity Backlash Begins
A fascinating read at the Wall Street Journal. Here's an excerpt. Be sure to read the whole thing by clicking at the link below.
Bundesbank president Jens Wiedmann made an important speech in Paris on Friday – and not just because he quoted a recent column of mine. His aim was to put the case for continued commitment to fiscal consolidation in response to the recent “anti-austerity” backlash across Europe. His paper is full of academic jargon, but essentially he is making three simple points:
• First, high levels of public borrowing can be inflationary because the central bank comes under pressure to keep debt servicing costs low and reduce the real (inflation-adjusted) burden of debt to prevent it becoming unsustainable. This is what economists call “fiscal dominance”.

4 Powerful Questions to Free You from the Daze of Fear and Inaction
You lay in bed night after night, tossing and turning, eager to push forward but unable to shake off the onslaught of what-ifs.
What if I’m making a huge mistake? What if I fail utterly and miserably? What if I’m overestimating my ability to go through with this? What-if…? What-if…?
Yet, no matter how crazy your anxiety and fears seem right now, you can snap out of it and make that new start you so desperately desire.
How do I know?
Let me tell you a little story…
Read the whole thing at Tiny Buddha. Overcoming fears is, in my experience, the single biggest challenge facing all of us.

Obama Administration Calls for the ‘Human Rights’ of Jihadi Murderers
Priorities...
It’s well known that whenever jihadis attack and slaughter innocent people — especially Christians — the Obama administration tries to ignore or whitewash. Lesser known, however, is that whenever foriegn governments try to subdue the jihadis, the Obama administration objects and calls for the “human rights” of the terrorists.

British soldier killed in Woolwich machete attack named as Drummer Lee Rigby
The family of Drummer Lee Rigby tonight paid tribute to the soldier, saying: "Lee was lovely. He would do anything for anybody, he always looked after his sisters and always protected them. He took a 'big brother' role with everyone.
"All he wanted to do from when he was a little boy, was be in the Army. He wanted to live life and enjoy himself. His family meant everything to him. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and uncle, and a friend to many."
Let us not forget that this was, in fact, a declaration of war against the UK by two extremist muslims. It's now up to the authorities to find out whether they belong to an umbrella group and, if so, to act on it.

The imam who took on the 'Muslim McCarthyists'
This is a must read about an enlightened Muslim from Britain - an imam, no less - who has declared a war of words against orthodox muslims, fundamentalists and extremists. Must read.
Taj Hargey was in an ebullient mood as he drank a cup of steaming hot chocolate in a coffee shop opposite the High Court yesterday morning. "Today is a great day for British Islam," he declared triumphantly. "Liberal, progressive Muslims have finally won a battle against the extremists that dominate the Muslim establishment in Britain."
Dr Hargey, a clean-shaven imam from Oxford who describes himself as a "thorn in the side of the Muslim hierarchy", had just won a libel claim against a conservative Muslim newspaper that claimed he belonged to a sect which many in his faith believe is ... more »

I just saw someone link to +CircleCount Tried to find the posting, but couldn't, so you'll just have to take my word for it.
That person wrote that CC is a great way to know how many followers you have gained (or lost) on a given day, what the trend(s) is (are), and what you do when you get more followers (more active? Less active? How?).
I had not checked CC for ages, but decided to go with it today again. My stunning (ahem) conclusion? The more active you are, the more followers you'll get.
I know, shocking that, isn't it?

Some great advice / tips right here. I especially have to spend more time on putting things on paper, doing things immediately, stick to your own rules, get more mentors.
The only difficulty is: I have some mentors, but how does one get more? My mentors are people I've known and had contact with for a long, long time. How does one just ask someone, a specialist with whom one had little contact before, to become one's mentor?
What are your thoughts on these tips, and will you use them?

Smartphone data usage prices: up to 100x difference in EU
In depth study shows astounding differences in the EU telecom market. Mobile internet prices differ enormously between member states and there is still no pan-European pricing in spite of large multinationals like Vodafone.
Some depressing observations from the study:
Smartphone tariff data volume allowances: up to 500x difference in EU27: in progressive markets independent challengers (e.g. Tele2 and 3) offer for the same price 100 to 500 times more data volume than what Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom or Telefonica offer in protected markets.
In progressive markets, when spending €24 consumers get on average 10 times more (13GB vs 1.3GB) smartphone data volume than in protectedmarkets. On top they also get twice more minutes and SMSs.
Data only tariff volume allowances: up to 100... more »

Jeff Gundlach: "We Are Drowning In Central Banking"
Ain't that the truth.
_Last week, Bill Gross did not mince his words when he said that he now "sees bubbles everywhere" and that "when that stops there will be repercussions" but for now Benny and the Inkjets, not to mention his band of merry statist men, who take from the poor and give to the wealthy, are playing the music on Max, and so one must dance and dance and dance. And after one legacy bond king, it was the turn of that other, ascendant one - Jeff Gundlach - to share his perspectives Bernanke's amazing bubble machine. His response, to nobody's surprise: "there is a bubble in central banking. We are drowning in central banking and quantitative easing.... And it's not ending until there are some negative consequences."_

Obama Admits He’s A Socialist
Obama himself, the Times explained, has been “longingly” telling his inner circle that what he’d really like to do is what Sen. Jay Bulworth, played by Warren Beatty in his 1998 movie “Bulworth,” did: to go public as an unabashed, angry and admitted socialist.
It’s as if Ronald Reagan had been caught saying he wanted to “Go Strangelove.”

"You look at the whole Benghazi thing. You look at those talking points and the initial draft by the CIA very explicitly said we know that activists who have ties to Al-Qaeda were involved in the attack. Then you see what comes out a couple of days later and there is no reference to this. This is a business where you have to tell the truth and that did not happen here."
