The promise of the flying car has been just around the car for a long time now.
This proposed car, the TF-X by Terrafugia, holds the promise of finally delivering. In many respects it works similar to the Marine Corps V-22 Osprey. It has vertical take-off and landing. This allows the vehicle to take-off from a helipad or parking lot and hence does not require a runway. Unfortunately we are still a decade away from seeing this in production.
