Mute Profiles: Stop All Notifications From Google Plus Users To You

Go to a user's profile and click on the GEAR on their profile page, and then select "Mute ____". [Blank will be the user's name]

(You will stop receiving any tags/mention or direct share Google+ post notifications from the user.)

I also suggest you provide an alternate way for muted users to contact you for private messages like enabling email on our profile or providing an alternative email or website that has a contact form. 

On Mobile, click on the profile of a user and wait for it to load. Then click on MENU for your phone and then "MUTE" to mute the G+ user's profile from sending you notifications.

Google Plus Tip -- There are no rules on Google Plus. Now, you can post however you want to on Google Plus, but it may or may not help you get interaction on your posts.

(Don't violate the Google Plus Terms of Service)

Below are a few suggestions and tips. You don't have to follow any of them, but I think most of them are decent tips. 

Some people say that all posts must have a photo. I don't think that is true at all. If a photo helps to sell your point, you can use it but remember that only 3 lines of text on a photo post will show on the mobile G+ app.

Use a title and sell your point in a short, concise statement that only takes up about 3 lines of mobile text width.

Send Feedback Tool -- The best way to get your ideas and suggestion heard by Google Plus employees is to use the Google Plus "Send Feedback" tool.

On your HOME page on G+, click the gear on the right to open up the menu to access the "Send Feedback" window.

Facebook Tip: Using Custom Privacy Settings

How to avoid fighting over political issues on Facebook.

There is no excuse to post political posts to friends that have asked you to hide them from political posts. 

(Use http://touch.facebook.com in a mobile browser.)

Acquaintance List Option: Put the people that don't want to see those political posts in the acquaintance list. 

OR

Option 1: Custom Friend List -- Exclusion List

Create a custom friend list and use the custom friend list to be your exclusion list. Add friends that do not want to see political posts to the list. Hide that list from your political posts by selecting "Custom" privacy setting when you create a post. Place the list name in the Hide section. Name it something like "Political Posts Exclusion List".

Facebook Tip -- Turn Tag Review on for your Facebook Timeline. -- Go to the Gear on the top right of Desktop Facebook and then click on "Privacy Settings" and then select "Timeline and Tagging" and then Review posts friends tag you in before they appear on your timeline and select "Edit" and turn it to "On". 

No one wants to see Facebook users tagged in shoes, porn, scams, Fake iPads, purses, or other spam marketing or phishing schemes.

Tell your friends and family that use Facebook how to Approve Tags.

You can do the same steps from Facebook Mobile: Menu>> Privacy & Terms>>Timeline and Tagging: Edit Settings and then "Review posts friends tag you in before they appear on your timeline: "edit">> turn to "On".

Ripples: Bookmark the Ripples Page

You use Ripples to see the list of public re-shares of a post on Google Plus. You can view ripples on any post that has been reshared by clicking on the small grey circle drop down menu to the right of any Google Plus post that has been re-shared by selecting "View Ripples". 

Maybe you want to see if a link has any ripples before you share it on Google Plus. If you BOOKMARK the ripples page, you can easily access it in your bookmark bar on your browser. On the Ripples page, you can copy and paste the url of the link you want to share in the search box near the top right of the page.

Youtube Videos Mobile Dilemma: Easy Workaround

If you are on a mobile phone or tablet (Android), and you click on a Youtube link but can't play the video in the Youtube mobile app, and you don't want to hassle with searching for the video on Youtube Mobile web, I have a solution for you. 

Fix:
1. Install "Choose Browser" on your Android device.
2. Install "Dolphin Browser HD" (or any mobile browser that handles flash well and can be easily set to DESKTOP MODE from the UA (User Agent) settings. Go ahead and set the browser to Desktop mode once installed on your device.
3. When you encounter a Youtube video that you can't play on Youtube Mobile player, click on "MENU" on the Youtube App (while on the Youtube video that can't be played on mobile) and then select "SHARE".

Short URL for Google Plus  - Some of you need to create a short "vanity" url for yourself. You never know when someone will message you on another app and you might have the same name as 20 other G+ users. give a link so a person can look you up. http://gplus.to

The Share Arrow allows you to re-share posts, photos, videos, and links.

Google Plus Share Arrow: The little arrow that points to the right at the bottom of a Google Plus post. (It's also found under the profile photos of Pages on Google Plus.)

How To Acquire The Permalink of a Post on Google Plus.

1. Use the drop down menu next to a post to select the "link to this post." 
     Then copy the link in the dialog box and paste it wherever you need it.

Google+ Extension Workflow

I know a lot of people don't like using extensions because it can break some things or make different aspects inaccessible, but I find some extensions help optimize my Google+ experience. A lot of these features I wish were built into Google+ but that is the nature of having a platform. You can add and take away different aspects.

Meirav is right. You dont' need to freak out if somebody you don't know has added you to their circles. It just means that they want to see the public posts you make when you make them. This isn't anything they can't already see.

They can't spam you by adding you (at least no more than they could before they added you). They get no special rights. You won't see any of their messages. Nothing changes. Most of all - you don't need to add them back.

You can add them, of course. Or you can ignore them. Or report them. Or do absolutely nothing.

The power is in your hands.
