While on the thread last night for +Peter McDermott's re-share of +John Fanavans' post searching for the top engager of the year(https://plus.google.com/108541235642523883716/posts/YSHnpZxiMok), +Carmelyne Thompson had a wonderful idea about how we can get better content across our streams. I see circle shares all the time, and while I love everyone in them and appreciate that everyone else shares in my sentiment, I am itching for some new talent. Some new and fresh faces that share equally as good content, but don't get the recognition they deserve. I see these rare little gems pop up in my stream all the time, and while I comment sometimes, no one else does. Of course, that leads to people who complain about how G+ is dead. And I would like that to change. Because as +Amanda Blain says, "see the magic of G+." But how would you be able to see it, if no one ever comments on your posts, and there's no one to engage with?
With all that being said, I have a challenge for everyone I have shared this post with. I would like you to make a circle of 5 people. In this circle should be people who:
1. Post content regularly in their streams.
2. The content should be what you think is entertaining, informative and interesting.
3. You have at least +1'd or commented on a few of their posts.
4. They engage on your posts most of the time.
5. Despite the fact that they post good content, they have little to no traffic coming to their streams.
We want these people to know that Google+ is not a popularity contest. We are a community, a family, and we want them to have a comfortable and permanent spot here with us. We want them to see this place just as we do. And we want to do this, together.
Should you choose to accept this challenge, please post your circle publicly, and hashtag it #my5engagers. This will ensure easier tracking of the circle shares, and make it easier for others who are looking to find engagers to add to their circles. :-)
I have included my own circle share of My top 5 engagers. I am not a high profile person on here, but I do have a decent amount of circlers. I have made connections with each of the people in this circle, and thought long and hard, going through my circles, before making the final decision to choose each one. I even consider one of them a close personal friend of mine.
+Adriana C. Marcos - Blogger, comic writer and artist from Spain. Really feisty, awkward and blunt, but opens up once you get to know her better. And once you have her heart, forget it, she's yours forever. Really talented and strong gal with more balls than most people I know. Her comic blog posts are mostly funny but ring true types, and will have you laughing until tears come from your eyes.
