Arthur Chang12,716The San Francisco Bay Bridge lights project will have their grand lighting ceremony on March 5th. I want to shoot it either from Slacker Hill or just the vista point at the North end of the GG bridge.A straight line shot over the top of financial district with an 85mm from slacker works great (see theme photo of mine that I shot at sunrise from slacker).I'm also open to changing locations if you guys have a better one!  Also if you have any hookups for us to get on Alcatraz Island, let me know!Bay light ceremony starts at 8:30pm, but we might as well get a sunset shot first, picnic, then wait for the lights.Parking and trail to Lower Slacker Hill where we'll meet:http://goo.gl/maps/yDKvqBay Lights Grand Lighting2013-03-05 17:30:0034G+
Eric Raeber1,181,775I got a post from @112417919317910781482 who is in the Bay Area this coming Friday evening and was wondering what we other photographers were up to. Sounds to me like a good excuse for a photowalk, no? On that, @108104041823912324329  proposed Alviso, which is a small city at the bottom tip of the bay with a bit of a history, as well as some old buildings to prove it. Here is the map: http://goo.gl/maps/xduKL We will start from the entrance of the Marina Park at 6.30pm. Park on the street, outside the parking lot, as the gate closes at sunset. @108104041823912324329 will tell us how she found out... Alviso also has a train crossing. If the passenger train is on time, we should get trains passing by around: - 6.08pm (northbound) - 6.23pm (southbound) - 7.33pm (northbound) - 8.30pm (southbound) This is a very small town. So even if you come late, you cannot miss us! If you come early, shoot the train! Bring on your flashlight and tripod. We’ll be in for some long exposures and light painting. We’ll have dinner at a restaurant of our choice after the photowalk. It is all within walking distance. Hope to see you there for some fun walk, fun talk, and fun shootsNight photowalk in Alviso, San Jose2013-01-18 18:30:0014G+

Jeff Sullivan619,563Flickr Photographers on Google+Here's an update to the circle I started last month, including people who asked to be in it in response to my post, the share by +Thomas Hawk, or the recent thread started by +Sly Vegas.  I know, some of you are probably wondering, "Why form a Flickr circle on G+?"   Well, I'm here to discuss and get inspired by photography, and discovering the users of other photography sites who are also here on G+ is a great way to do that.  Besides, if we all connect more effectively over here on G+, that reduces our need to spend time on multiple networks simply to connect with our friends who are holdouts (I'm still trying to get a few die-hard Flickr friends over).  I knew a lot of good folks there, and they're still good folks here (and I have new tools like events, hangouts, chat to connect with them, and photowalks to join them on).Anyone else want to join us, and be in future updates to this photographers' circle?2012-09-28 00:20:07167382150CC G+
Trever McGhee10,916+Grayson Hartman Has created an amazing circle of people from #FireFirdayFire :  That deals with anything about fire-from a wildfire, to a tip of a match shot macro, to even smoke from a fire, fire houses, fire hydrants and fire hoses and from me using fire an amazing tool to achieve anything you set your mind too. Every Friday I'll post amazing pictures around the firewalks I've done to empower people...communities that they do have what it takes to succeed on the inside.Tag #FireFriday   #circleshare     #circles     #circlesharing   #circlecount   #Takesseconds    2012-08-09 12:06:384987016CC G+

Cynthia Pyun11,332Share a circle DayOk, so I made that one up. But as I've been honored to be a part of several circles in the past, I wanted to share one that I watch all the time. This is my Bay Area circle. Disclaimer, it's not perfect and it's not all of you wonderful people I've met. I did this awhile ago, and am happy to add folks along the way :=)If you live in CA/northern CA and I've had a chance to remember you do, I've probably added you to this circle. It started out because I wanted to see what other photowalks were going to pop up in the area. Thanks to +elizabeth hahn and her +Northern California Photowalks (and More), my Google Calendar is automatically updated :=)But if you are new to Google Plus, and you want to see some great work and find out about a photowalk in the Bay Area, check out Elizabeth's calendar and add it to yours, and go ahead an use this circle to see some amazing and talented work!2012-06-15 17:13:151179013CC G+
Elizabeth Hahn19,891With the anniversary of G+ just a couple weeks away, I went through all the people in my circles, and made one just for people I've HIRL'd with.  This is a circle of 200 that with the exception of one person, I didn't even knew existed a year ago.  (the one person was one of the most recent I have met, too).  If I've forgotten you, please send me a message!!!!!  I've gone through my circles a few times trying to catch everyone.. but I still probably missed someone.I didn't follow any blogs, I didn't follow photographers on that other social network, I pretty much shot on my own.  In the last year I've been on more photowalks than I can count.  (I would guess over 40, but I haven't sat down and really counted).  Some of the folks I've just shook their hand and said hello, other's I've spent days in the desert, mountains and beaches of California with.  There are people from at least 4 different countries, pro photographers, casual hobby photographers, but they all have enough passion for it to get out and share their love of it with others.  While much photography, especially landscape photography is done alone, it also can be a really fun group sport.Add the circle if you wish, pass if you don't.  I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here for changing my view of photography, and help me learn so much in the last year.  You all rock!!!!!2012-06-12 22:22:15200102119CC G+

If any one knows of a photographer with less then 5000 followers please add them to the comments and I will try to add then updated list in a few weeks.I ask you kindly re-share, +1 and Comment on this post so that we can hit the What's Hot/Trending to promote as many of the photographers as possible.2012-04-28 16:36:19150452931CC G+

I tried to link this to FB a few hours ago, with mixed results.  On one hand, I like that FB doesn't allow animated gifs, but when it comes to sharing the few I want to share it's been problematic. I must be copying the wrong link or something.

There's a (hazy) Blood Moon on the Rise - San Jose, CA

After some deliberation last night I decided to head out for the blood moon.  I got to the spot with a foreground that I wanted but it was clear that the haze in the San Jose skies wouldn't let up.  I headed home and just viewed the #bloodmoon  from my balcony.

It's soft, but this is what I had last night :)

Taken a few weeks ago while I was chasing fog around sunrise.  As I was post processing this I was thinking about odd crop sizes and how I rarely do them.   Using different crops helps my eye keep them in mind when trying to compose something.

Google+ does such a great job displaying different crop ratios in the feed.  It doesn't have to be a 3:2 or 1:1 world :)

Let’s Publish Plus One Collection III - SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW ACCEPTED!

Want to be in the next volume of Plus One Collection charity book? Read on and act now!

Ever since Google+ launched, we’ve been publishing photography books that contained some of the best photographs you shared. We published two volumes so far. It wasn’t just a nice coffee table book - but all proceeds from the sale went to great causes. Two years ago we raised over $10,000 for Kiva. A year ago we raised over $13,000 for the Kilgoris Project and we bought cameras for kids in Kenya. This year’s cause will soon be announced, but as usual, all proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit a charitable cause.

You can see more here (though the website will soon be updated to include this year’s information) - http://plusonecollection.com/

I tried to link this to FB a few hours ago, with mixed results.  On one hand, I like that FB doesn't allow animated gifs, but when it comes to sharing the few I want to share it's been problematic. I must be copying the wrong link or something.

Anyways, this is our gender reveal for our first baby!

+The Bold Italic  has a fun piece on the best deep dish in SF.    The results fall in line with how I actually feel about Little Star/BlueLine and Patxi's.  They are great places for deep dish but nothing can replace my love for Lou's.

Some of the tasters list Lou Malnati's as their favorite pizza, so that adds credibility to the test IMO :)

Now to see if I've reviewed the pizza places myself for +Google Local San Francisco ....

Foggy Afternoon at Slacker Hill Time Lapse - San Francisco, CA

I'm hard at work editing a large set from an inspiration shoot from this weekend.  I felt like posting something, as a break.

Last week was my first successful outing to catch some low fog rolling into San Francisco Bay.    I setup for a time lapse, but after about an hour, I got antsy to shoot, and having only one camera I abandoned the time lapse idea and start taking normal stills.

It's probably a good thing that I stopped.  The fog came in so high,  so quickly, I didn't get the sunset transition to night that I was hoping for.  Next time, maybe I bring two cameras.
