If you ever used it, you know Facebook Search barely counts as such. It’s absolutely awful. But the company's announcement today unveiling its new Graph Search could change everything.

After a tragedy such as the one today in Newtown, Conn., it is a journalist's responsibility to collect the information and decide how to tell a story in a way that might offer insight to his or her readers.
When violence of this magnitude occurs, people want to find who's responsible. The media want the same thing. They want answers for their readers, but they also want to deliver the news first.
In that pursuit for first, many media outlets pushed out incorrect facts, causing more harm than good.
In an op-ed piece, Mashable's Editor-in-Chief Lance Ulanoff explains why this rush to judgment is far more damaging now than it was 10 or 20 years ago.

Today I’m excited to welcome +Nik Software to the Google family! We want to help our users create photos they absolutely love, and in our experience Nik does this better than anyone. Check out the examples from some of the world’s greatest photographers, and you’ll see what I mean.
This week we also hit an important milestone--over 400,000,000 people have upgraded to Google+. It was only a year ago that we opened public sign-up, and we couldn’t have imagined that so many people would join in just 12 months. While Google+ is all about creating a better experience across Google, it’s also a destination. And here too, I’m happy to report that we have just crossed 100,000,000 monthly active users on Google+ (plus.google.com and mobile app).

From almost the very first time I picked up a crayon, and for as long as I've been drawing, I've been interested in animation. The idea that a series of images could create the illusion of movement was like a little bit of magic--and that it could be done so simply made me believe I could be the magician.
In the local Five-and-Dime, I found some rudimentary flip books and soon I was creating my own. When personal computers arrived, I naturally gravitated toward the art applications and anything that let me create cartoons and animations.
