So on the 7th of May our organic (non-paid) search traffic* soars to an unusually high level for a very long-tail of terms, primarily our blog. The jump is unusual in what happened to be a very established traffic pattern (at least a year or more).

In the meantime Google's localisation update pushes us back for some of the most important terms (such as "SEO").

Last night, organic traffic jumped even higher (last point in the graph). Something's up and I'm both happy and upset at what happened.

At this scale you can see a large node (home page) in the middle followed by some of the most (internally) linked pages on our site. Tiny little nodes in the circular link graph on the right are the least linked pages, if you were to zoom out you would see a full circle to get to those.

PageRank formula applied to entire link graph of +Dejan SEO website, sized and coloured by its value and arranged in a circular layout transformation. At this level a lot of individual links are indistinguishable and seen as a white trace/surface.

Although I estimated the "conversation" to start taking place between 2012 and 2015 I feel that the true intelligent dialogue will happen between 2015 and 2030. Not sooner.

A common mistake people make is that they NoIndex a page, and also list it in Robots.txt.  As I try to illustrate in the diagram below, if the page is listed in robots.txt, then the search engine spider can't read the page to see the NoIndex tag, after all, you just told it to not read that page!
