New sentient life form discovered!

And it was there... right below our feet this whole time!
Despite evidence of being trod on unnoticed for who knows how long, this happy-go-lucky life form seems to have kept it's sense of humor. Once released from the confines of stinky socks and claustrophobic foot wear, the resilient creatures were quick to show their pleasure at finally meeting face to face. Though currently unable to communicate with words, a dialog consisting of expressions of happy smiles and toe tapping has enabled scientists to determine that this new species is both friendly and cute. Further study is needed to determine what this means for the future of footwear.

The world is full of surprises. Enjoy the treasures that come your way, especially the ones that come in strange packages.

The novel I am writing continues to haunt my dreams. And everyday I don't have time to set down the words... is an agony. My head is like these jello eggs. Until I manage to crack the shell of time, the colorful treasure inside can only be glimpsed by holding me up to the light....

A slice of moon cuts me from my binding...

Whisker Illumination...

A gale force wind is screaming down from the North. Ice is laying patterns on the window panes. A brief moment of warmth as the sunlight breaks through the racing clouds, only a cat could find the sweet spot of Summer memories sneaking through the window. Minutes later, darkness returns and sub-zero highs begin creeping under the door sill. With feet tucked under, furry contentment makes the cold of Winter bearable.

Waiting...

The Garden is frozen, trapped in slumber underneath a cap of icy snow. The birds have stripped the seeds from the asters and sunflowers. Rabbits have visited the frozen kale and broccoli, leaving footprints and fertilizer for Spring. Winter's song whistles through the bare branches of the cherry tree and plays percussion in the dried milkweed stalks. January is a time of waiting, deep hibernation and endurance...

One Petal Away...

One petal away tapped silent foot steps
"Come into my den..." said the lion to the ant
Golden main flying in the breezy breath of mother Earth
the King bowed down to the flame of sunlight
carried in on the back of the lowly ant
"Blessings of warmth and hope..." breathed a whispery voice
Feet shifted and eyes followed
the line etched in the Autumn sky

Tangled...

Life can be a tangle mess...
Twists and turns full of angst and despair...
... pain and failure.
All intertwined with joy and love...
... laughter and peace.
We can not always control which way life will turn.
What we can control is how we view the chaos.
Some choose to give control to others...
To not have to look and accept that actions have reactions.
... and sometimes “stuff” just happens.
There doesn’t have to be a “reason”...
There doesn’t have to be some overall “plan”...
... It’s just a tangles mess...
a frustrating, complicated, beautiful, glorious tangled mess.
... and I for one am glad to be a part of it...
