XBox One - Calm Down, People...

I've been just watching all the Xbox rage/hate flow by in my stream and I can't help but be amused.  People are not thinking about half of what they are saying.  And when they are, it's about things we have no clear info on yet.  Calm down... It's going to be ok.  Let's see what happens at E3 before we get our undergarments all twisted up.

Circles Everywhere!

Over the past couple of days I have been shared in some really awesome circles.  It reminded me how long it's been since I shared one of my own.  And with all the new people around, I figured it might be helpful.  

These 200 lovely plussers were chosen by google's magic as being the most relevant to me (minus a few pages and the people who don't use G+).  I went through them and can assure you that these are all top notch characters (well, mostly :p).  They definitely make google+ the amazing place that it is.  Just, be prepared for shenanigans.

Chocolate Ginger Oatmeal Bliss Cookies!

Hello and Welcome!

I just noticed that I hit 25k circlers today.  It's been a crazy month in that regard!  I'm led to believe that this has to do with how people are being suggested and that many of you new circlers are probably new to g+ in general.  Because of that, I wanted to take a moment to extend a bit of welcome and try to get to know you guys a bit.

6 Foot, Fire Breathing Piranha Plant...  Yes, Please!

I'm not very outdoorsy (ok, so I'm not outdoorsy at all), but this has me wanting to set up some sort of Super Mario Bros themed landscaping...  How cool would it be to fancy this up a bit, put it in a green pipe, and surround it with garden goombas!?!?   Plus, a fire breathing plant might help deter unwanted weekend visitors (or attract them sigh).... Free Comic Book Day... Success!

I've grown accustomed to buying my comics online.  I only buy certain ones in print these days and shopping online has made that super easy.  Plus, I only realized a short time ago that my local shop was still open.  I've been a couple times since and its a tiny place that's usually empty when I go (besides the man who owns it).  However, I had to stop by for Free Comic Book Day and I was pleasantly surprised.  The place was full of people and it was a completely different world than it usually is.  It reminded me that I should be supporting my local shop quite a bit more.  

Anyway, I acquired my free comic and found a couple others to add to my collection (even though it left a little gap that I now need to fill before I can read them).  Not to mention, that the entire trip was far more amusing than I expected.  Overall,complete... more »

Draw Your Own Video Game Levels!

Here is a super neat idea for kids (and big kids)... Pixel Press: the app that lets you draw your own game.  You just print out the special sheet, draw your level, take a picture, test it, and then share.  Easy as that!  

It's definitely a fun way to get kids interested in making games.  Unfortunately, this will be iOS only.  For shame...

A Year of Ginger Thursday!

Today almost got away from me, but I didn't forget... It's been a year since we started invading Google+ with our ginger shenanigans!  After the idea came up and Roland made the first post (http://goo.gl/SYcBd), I assumed we'd get maybe a good few weeks of fun.  I never expected it to become a part of my weekly routine (or for it to become so loved/hated).  You guys definitely rock!

It has been a crazy hectic couple of days, but definitely the best I've had.  <3  We got to explore Hoboken and NY a bit, as well as, enjoy an amazing suite with an even more amazing view.  Incredible time all around.  

I snapped this picture with my phone really quick yesterday morning.  The others I took weren't on my camera, so I'll have to be patient.  Now, to go catch up on notifications/messages and try to go back to normal life.  *sigh*

I am so smart... SMRT

Because I'm incredibly awesome and on the ball in the morning, I decided to start today off by locking my keys and phone in my car.  Yay!   It seems to be my particular brand of awesome that makes me always end up stranded when my phone is dead or just out of reach.  Which has made me realize that people in 2013 trust no one and don't much want you using their expensive phones. Luckily, I found the one lady who didn't seem to mind and was more than helpful.  Woot!   To the this lady (and anyone else who helps a stranger in need), I give you my biggest thank you!

Now to try to go make the best of this day and get some stuff done.  Thank goodness it's Friday...

NYPD Gets Serious About Ginger Hate

Earlier this month a message went out to NYPD sergeants and lieutenants warning them that redhead harassment would not be tolerated.  It doesn't seem clear what prompted the message to go out (no lawsuits have been filed), but it does makes me wonder if this has been a big issue for the NYPD.  

It seems the ginger officers (and retirees) are torn about whether this is necessary.  Some think it's nice and that gingers do deal with a lot of hate.  Another thinks that making redheads a protected class is ridiculous.  So now I'm curious... What do you guys think?

So I Got Bored...

A little bit ago +Halfdan Reschat posted a video of someone covering the cup song from the movie Pitch Perfect.  I've not seen the movie. I've never even heard the song.  However, I immediately recognized the cup part.  It's the cup game!  And I played it at band camp... <insert band camp joke here>  

Well, tonight this song/game came up in conversation with one of my roommates.  The end result of this conversation was that I decided to see if I could do the game and sing at the same time (I'm not usually coordinated like that).  I couldn't at first, but I yelled at my brain and we worked something out.  Then one thing led to another and now there is a video.  Keep in mind, this is definitely nothing special and you can find tons of better cup song videos on YouTube   This is just a quick, horrible quality moment ofboredom and ... more »

Redhead Day... UK Edition

Every year since 2005 there is a HUGE festival for redheads (Roodharigan) in the Netherlands.  It attracts thousands of redheads and is a fairly unique event...  Until now...

The UK wants to be taken over by redheads too.  They are starting their own redhead day for this summer.  It's far from being as big as Roodharigan, but it looks like a good start.  If any of you UK Gingers are around Manchester on June 29, you may want to check it out!  

PS: We need a Redhead Festival for the US (The Dublin Irish Festival doesn't count)... Someone should make this happen...
