I think I may be sensitive to gluten, so I am seriously considering trying a gluten-free diet. I want to see how going gluten-free makes me feel, but I just don't know where to begin.

I know I must have some gluten-sensitive/intolerant friends--do any of you have any tips or suggestions for getting started? This diet seems so overwhelming...

Coconut Chicken Kebabs with Pineapple Sauce

So, I made the most delicious meal last week and now I have to share. You know, I had a feeling these little skewers were going to be amazing, so I decided to get my camera out before I actually cooked them (something I never, ever think to do), so you get to see a little 'before' snapshot! Preparation is a little time-consuming, since you have to bread the chicken before baking, but these things are so, so good and it's totally worth it. Oh, but they're not very healthy. Tons of carbs in the sauce. You can always choose to use less sauce though! Just add some extra seasonings to the breading. :)

Current favorite song. God, he sounds so good live. And always. I'm glad I got to experience a Priest performance when I was a teenager in '05. It was amazing, but I wish I could have been at this one...

Sometimes I think I was born 20 years too early. So many of my favorite bands were in their prime in the 80s and now I'm stuck with trying to see them all before they quit touring! OR DIE. :(

So, I don't know if it's just me or what, but I never knew that IMDb has free full-length movies (lots of them are actually short films, but not all of them) and TV episodes available to watch online. I don't know how I've never come across this awesome feature.

This makes me very happy.

The University of Engineering and Technology of Peru has come up with an amazing alternative way to provide a sustainable source of drinking water in Lima, Peru. This billboard filters the city's humid air and converts it into water! The cold tank (the pole on which the billboard stands) can hold and distribute up to 96 liters of water per day (about 26 gallons). I have read that the energy the board uses is kind of a lot, so I do think something could be done about that, but this idea is incredible and makes more sense than anything I've heard of in a long time. This is something that should be happening everywhere.

I wish I was still enrolled in some #anthropology  courses. I'd kind of like to write a paper about sustainable water.

The Most Wonderful Valentine's Day Ever
I love my boyfriend very much. For Valentine's Day, he made me some very pretty rose-scented candles and gave me the most beautiful orchid ever! And I cooked a delicious four-course meal (the soft pretzels I made for the appetizer were amazing) and I bought him some beer and hard cider and made him a valentine. I never had a reason to hate Valentine's Day, but I also never had a reason to love it. Until yesterday, I had never celebrated it. But now I think that it's one of the best days! I had so much fun. Although it was pretty stressful!

For +Blast From The Past, I wanted to share a photo of my parents before their senior prom, but I could only find separate photos. I'm not sure why I don't have any of them together, but I used to! Oh well; in these photos they're standing on the same ground at least. Anyway, these are my parents in 1988 (I have pretty young parents).

They first got together in December 1987, the day after my mom's 17th birthday. My dad was supposed to be looking for a job, but he went to the arcade instead. The manager came out of his office and asked if anyone needed a job and my dad was hired on the spot and came in the next day. And that's the day my mom's friends dared her to go talk to him.

Tomorrow is their wedding anniversary. I can't remember how many years it's been...I think 23. So...anyway, here's my picture. Not sure if a story was necessary, but I like... more »
