Now that widescreens are becoming the standard you might as well put you chat window on the right and in the settings of that window set it to large, since it's the only inhabitant in the right column. Gmail is built on urls. Any command is a url and Quick links can capture all those internal links by just hitting Add quick link. Like what?

I think I'll officially call this a #fail. 
I notice there are quite some problems with mobile uploading recently but to offer to enhance the grey failure icon picture is a bit too much, I'd say.

G+ GIFt I didn't even ask for it. I found this one in my G+ album, only because I shot five the same pictures. For everyone who likes GIFs and children: from top to bottom nephews/nieces(2, 12, 9, 10, 8) and daughter(6).

The World of Deceipt I read two longreads in the plane. One about former professor Diederik Stapel http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/04/28/magazine/diederik-stapels-audacious-academic-fraud.xml , the Dutchman who faked research results, how he did it and how he dealt with it. The other about a veteran marathon runner http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2012/08/06/120806fa_fact_singer?currentPage=all who fakes sub 3 hour marathons. The latter is less satisfactory because he doesn't get caught  but definitely entertaining. The former is even educational.

Someone asked how far back goes this family tree. Below is the earliest document of Pierre (5 generations before Samuel Lancelot) marrying in on April 6 1643. His wife, interestingly also called Pierre, died in 1691 in Soulègre which is, according to Google Maps, close to Castres.

Is it all over for the giant inflatable Rubber Duck that has attracted thousands of admirers to Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour?

Conceptual artist Florentijn Hofman's creation, which made its debut in the harbour the week before last, lies deflated in the water.

The 16.5-metre-high inflatable sculpture was due to remain at the Ocean Terminal for a month but was last night pictured lying on its side.

The news got web users in a flutter, with Hong Kong Wrong blog joking http://hongwrong.com/ding-dong/ that the bird had succumbed to lung cancer from pollution.

In case you wonder why I'm in France from Thursday to Monday, it's because we'll have a family meeting. 150 descendants of Dutchman Samuel Lancelot Voûte will meet in Castres (60km from Toulouse), where his grandfather Jean Jacques had left from in 1735 for Holland. His last name was then still Veaute. Veaute remains nowadays as a common name around Castres and Albi. By the star is the church where Veautes were married and buried.

My dad Allard (1941-2010) took us there when I was young. It was impressive to see the old graves.
His brothers Tom (1936-2008) and Jan Reinier (1949-) went there in around 2005 and decided we couldn't hold a family meeting there because there weren't enough hotel rooms. Now, in 2013, there is a new hotel and it is all going to happen. Tom and Allard would be proud!

Someone(6) went to the eye doctor today. She had complained about not being able to see on the whiteboard and empirical tests showed that from more than 2 meters she couldn't read signs.

Not something you're likely to see in IFC, a Red-necked Keelback catches a frog on Lantau. Not sure what either of them were doing on top of a mountain. According to the internet, the snake is rare for being both poisonous and venomous. Didn't really get to know the frog.

Yesterday I met a Finnish couple who live in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_Cheung 's house. Leslie was a singer who killed himself ten years ago by jumping off the Mandarin Oriental hotel.
