A problem that may become an opportunity.

An essential item I've been using daily for 15 years, is a very difficult one to find one with all the right features and design. The best one is the latest one, I've had it now for 7 or 8 years. It's coming to the end of its life soon, and I went to some stores trying to find a replacement one.

I was told that the manufacturing of that line was stopped 5 years ago, and the replacing one is not nearly as good. There is nothing even partly as good and functional models available. And I was not the only one to ask for that type of a product.

Next thing to do - design a good product myself (with some professionals) and figure out the production. I have the first retailer already - the store owner said they would carry such product immediately and it would sell.

What's next? Another startup company?

Today, I have realized a few things about how the world has changed:
- Global is here. And it's killing the Local. Only the Hyperlocal can survive
- Ecosystems rule. So will the ecosystem of ecosystems. Closed will not survive in long term, no matter how superior in quality.
- Gen Y & Z will rule. Or at least the thinking they represent. All baby boomers and X-people, start re-inventing your lives now.
- I do have a chance after all. In the end, I just may have been too early birdie.

I think I'm starting to understand why Google+ might be able to be a success after all.

A big question is why it's only coming to me now, even though so many fanatics such as +Jaana Nyström +Timo Kiviluoma +Tarja Ollas +Niina Sauvolainen  have been trying to explain this to me, several times, and in several ways.

If my hypothesis is true, people need to start thinking about their social media usage in a whole different way.

Let's see if I would be capable of producing a blog post about this.

It is great Nokia is now leading this opening up - besides prototyping, this is actually a way for anyone to print personalized covers in any color, any shape and texture to their own phones. I wish other major companies now realize the enthusiasm in the 3D-printing hobbyists and their willingness to print nice things to all their friends. Soon there may be thousands of variations to this and they will not be available in stores, you get them only if you have a friend who has access to a 3D-printer. Nokia is now creating an ecosystem through DIY-culture.
