Times are a Changing
Finally! I know spring has really come to my neck of the woods when I can walk up my sidewalk and under the entryway porch without having to dodge water droplets from the melting snow on our porch roof! And the yard? I really do have one!!
For my photography, it also means a shift. Mainly, I don't have to put my camera in a zip lock bag when bringing it in from the elements into the house.
But also, the wonders of warmth in Alaska - and all the beauty I have to look forward to over the next 3-4 months. I love Alaska!

To all those who have recently circled me: Thanks. I live in Alaska and love to share its wonders, although recently I have been enjoying and sharing pictures from a recent trip to Japan.
And to those of you who have been with me for a while. Thank you, too. The stuff I share is 99.9% me. I re-share others posts pretty infrequently. My own posts seem to mosey along. I really appreciate the interaction.

iPhone shot that just had to do.
Have you ever seen the Dicaprio movie "Catch Me If You Can?" and the scene where he is running a scam at the airport and has all of these beautiful "stewardesses" around him as he makes his way thru the airport crowds? People just stopped and stared!
Well, this Hong Kong based Korean Airlines crew got the same reaction as they hurried down the terminal at Seattle airport to get on the flight that I was taking to Seoul. I was able to get this single shot of them prior to departure.
On the way back home to Alaska, it was Seoul to LAX, also on Korean Airlines. We ended up sitting on the tarmac for almost an hour and we had to go thru Customs, two TSA checks, and make our way from International Terminal to Terminal 6 to catch the only flight back to Anchorage that day.

Why I HATE Java - not for any of the "slows down performance" you might think but because Oracle would really recommend something like the ASK Toolbar when you update JAVA.
Java will forever be a part of our lives as long as Oracle makes money allowing other programs to piggyback on its install. And ASK toolbar? Give me a break!!

Huge throng of visitors is almost lost in this structure's immenseness. IPhone TrueHDR shot.
On this visit I actually decided to leave my DSLR behind back in Kinomoto. It was a challenge, but one I accepted willingly for the experience of traveling light for a change. In retrospect, it was probably wasn't the best decision I've made. But now I certainly have a clearer feel of where IPhone and S95 end and DSLR begins.
But it was still fun being more nimble in the midst of all this magnitude.

My daughter is practicing a lesson of Japanese Tea ceremony today with her Sensei and fellow student (as well as my wife and I visiting) in Kinomoto, Japan.
Only one day on the ground in Japan so far. Many local Buddhist temple and Shinto Shrine photo shots from Kimomoto. But waiting until I get home to process. Tomorrow is Hikone Castle!
