I had such an amazing time at Rock On The Range this weekend. For me, Stone Sour and Volbeat had the best performances of the weekend, although I enjoyed every band and thought they were all fantastic. Steel Panther was funny and brilliant, as expected. Being in the pit is definitely the place to be when they're playing -- the women love these guys and aren't afraid to show it... ;)

I can't wait until next year to do it all again!

I was actually going to buy this game on launch day. In the past, I've been a very casual SimCity player, but the new iteration tempted me. The only reason I didn't purchase it was because of the DRM, like many other people.

Wow, am I glad I didn't just 'suck it up' and buy the game, despite the online only "feature."

You would think that the longer this drags out, the quicker a crack for this game comes out, if it hasn't already. And, not to defend pirating, but I almost hope one does, just to screw them over even more for such a bad decision.

Samsung Pays Apple $1 Billion Sending 30 Trucks Full of 5 Cents Coins

This morning more than 30 trucks filled with 5-cent coins arrived at Apple’s headquarters in California. Initially,  the security company that protects the facility said the trucks were in the wrong place, but minutes later, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) received a call from Samsung CEO explaining that  they will pay $1 billion dollars for the fine recently ruled against the South Korean company in this way.

the funny part is that the signed document does not specify a single payment method, so Samsung is entitled to send the creators of the iPhone their billion dollars in the way they deem best. 

This dirty but genius geek troll play is a new headache to Apple executives as they will need to put in long hours counting all that money, to check if it is all there and to try to deposit it crossing fingers tohope... more »

The digusting habit of willful ignorance or hypocrisy by conservatives. Warning #politics ahead. So, I'm on my summer family road trip criss crossing through several states, starting with Idaho and Wyoming (Yellowstone and Grand Teton).

The drive across the Western states, if you've never done it, is beautiful and awe inspiring, not just because of the natural features, but also by what man has accomplished. Incredible feats of civil engineering, hundreds and hundreds of miles of well groomed and maintained roads through impossible mountain ranges and thirst-wrenching deserts, electric and phone towers as far as the eye can see. On top of that, the foresight to realize the incredible treasures of this land and turning them into national or state parks for everyone to enjoy for generations to come. Decided to get a little crafty after dinner.

Found an old 15 inch monitor that wasn't being used and decided to set it up for a dual screen experience. Well, having it in landscape mode looked silly sitting next to my 23 inch monitor. So, I realized the 15 inch turned in portrait mode was the perfect size, but of course, the stand on the back didn't support portrait mode. I looked online and stands were going for around $50 bucks. This monitor is probably not even worth 50 bucks, so I wasn't going to waste my money. 

So, I found some aluminum, nuts and bolts and after a few minutes of welding, cutting, drilling, etc, I made a a pretty sweet looking stand. I even put some swirls in the aluminum and clear-coated it. :) 

Pretty happy with it and I didn't have to spend a dime!

Works awesome for keeping my G+ feed and twitter up visible while workingo... more »

Finally picked up a Galaxy Note. Using the Blaze Modem to run on Tmobile 4G. Wish reception and speed were a little better, but I absolutely love this phone. The screen size is just amazing - I can't imagine going back to anything smaller..

Starting to experience a lot of rude/inconsiderate people on Craigslist over the last few weeks. If you're selling something, you shouldn't act like an ass to a potential buyer.

The real question: Is it ever acceptable to begin trolling these people, just for the hell of it? I have lots of emails, and a little bit of time to spare, so I wouldn't mind jerking some of these people around for a little bit. ;)

More and more, I'm finding that there needs to be some kind of system in place here on Google+ that tells you why someone circled you. I'm starting to have a problem figuring out who someone is and what their niche is when they circle me. Some kind of notification next to their name when they circle you should indicate just this.

For instance, if I'm being circled because I'm interested in Android, I should be notified explaining that's why I was circled. Maybe next to the persons name there should be a description such as: (You share the same interests in Android), or allow circle names to be public to just that particular person. Meaning, if I add someone, why not have the option to publicly tell the person which circle I added them to? (Greg Parto added you to his Android circle.) Obviously, this should be up to the discretion of the person doing the circling.
