Hello, my name is Erica and I am a grown woman who doesn't know how to wear or put on makeup. :(

Someone once said I should put on a really bold lip color and out loud I was like "sure" but in my head I was like "what the fuck are you even saying woman? YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT LIPSTICK."

I think I was traumatized at an early age by a bad makeup experience. I have shared this picture once before and now I will share it again. The picture below was me at homecoming. My mom was something of a party lady in her youth and I think she thought to dress me up as her old party lady self for my first homecoming dance. Except she stopped being a party lady in the 80s and this homecoming took place during the mid-90's. I easily had on more makeup than every person there combined. Mortifying is an understatement. Alas I stupidly left my aperture at f/2.8 so there will most assuredly be a take two, hopefully with more interesting things going on in the sky. I'm a sucker for some good clouds, dontchaknow.

Thankfully this isn't too far from home so it's easy to replicate this shot as many times as I want while the sun is still in this approximate position.

ClockworkMod Recovery for Google Glass XE

This is an unofficial / testing release of +ClockworkMod recovery for the Explorer Edition of +Project Glass.

To use, you can "fastboot oem unlock" your device and either boot one time with "fastboot boot <recovery_name>.img" or replace the stock recovery with "fastboot flash recovery <recovery_name>.img". The camera shutter will scroll through the selection list and the power button will select an item.

This is built using cm-10.1 sources and kernel source located here: https://github.com/bekriebel/android_kernel_omap/tree/glass-omap-xrr02_cm-10.1

I have successfully tested the following:
  access via adb (including Koush's new adb backup)

So there was some discussion today about early-merging vs. late-merging on a specific off-ramp in the Bay Area. As an admitted late-merger, I got a few flames from early-mergers ("you're ruining traffic for everyone!" that's a dick move!" etc).

In the course of these discussions, this book was recommended twice. Apparently it explains why late-merging is probably better for traffic than early-merging.

I can't say that I've read the book but since +Matt Cutts was one of the people who suggested it, it's on my to read list. I need to get myself a new Kindle Paperwhite first.

Anyone have experiences with the book, the Kindle Paperwhite, or both? Please share. :)

I just realized that my kids will never use phone numbers.

I can communicate with text, pictures, and video using the new Hangouts app. The structure of a cell phone number doesn't make sense (http://xkcd.com/1129/) and it's tied to a specific device. In the future I expect you to contact me, +Chris Cartland, wherever I am.

We're not quite ready to completely throw away phone numbers yet, but the idea that you need to know a string of numbers in order to talk to someone is going to be hard to explain to a kid.

So I really wanted to know what our limit is, how many photos? So I tested it with 49 photos and it seems to be using all of them. THIS is totally awesome.

Today I intended to wake up at 6am, work out, have a healthy smoothie, be dressed and on the shuttle to work at 8, where I was to grab some egg whites and bacon and have A Productive Day At The Office.

In efforts to do this, I turned off my TV at 11:30pm last night, fully intending to go to sleep.

I didn't fall asleep for about an hour.

When I did fall asleep, I had some of the worst sleep of my life. I had a nightmares about insane college football coaches wanting to kill me (what is it with the football coaches lately), the person saving me from the insane coaches actually intending to rape me. My escape from the rapist being hampered by the fact that none of the bystander vehicles had enough room for me (all Smart cars with two passengers).

I woke up at 4am from that nightmare and couldn't get back to sleep for another hour. I slept right through my 6am... more »

Last night I dreamed I was at the beach and made friends with a guy who looked like Seth Green and turned out to be one of the Washington Redskins coaching staff.

My super Redskins fan mom was stoked (I like how my dreams bring her back to life) and kept pressuring me to ask him on a date. He thought it was funny and eventually asked me on a date.

Also my hair was cotton candy blue and pink in the back, which was awesome.
