Hi,

I couldn't find an introduction section, so i hope you'll forgive me if i post my first image here and introduce myself.

My name is Michael Diblicek, i'm a British photographer living in Eastern France.
I love Black and White Photography, and in particular Long Exposures.

I have had an interest in photography since the age of 15, and worked for a number of years in the photographic industry, before leaving to work in the Printing and Packaging industry in my 30's and put photography to one side during those years.
It's only in the last 3-4 years that i have re-discovered the love and passion for photography, and as i said earlier black and white long exposure Landscapes, Seascapes, Architecture and also shooting in the snow.
I search for minimalist scenes in my work. I'm looking for a sense of peace, tranquility and silence.

STOLEN CAMERA GEAR!

One of my biggest fears came into reality yesterday.


My camera bag, full of almost everything I own has been stolen. (except for a 200€ flashgun I accidentally left at home).

It all happened while I was having lunch, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon in a small bar in the city center of Milan. My backpack was between my chair (which I never left) and a solid concrete wall; I still can’t believe they succeeded in taking that cumbersome 10+kg backpack without me even noticing. 
Side note – just to give you a smile: I was drinking still water at the time.

It’s pretty hard to get insured if you’re not a professional here in Italy, so no chance of getting ANY money back.

Hi,
I've just bought myself a Slider from Digislider, and was wondering what's the best combination for tripod heads.
I have a Manfrotto 468 MGRC4 ballhead with the Hydro plate 410PL which is on my tripod, and want to buy a Manfrotto video head, but what's the best thing to do. Should i place the video head on the slider or is it better to put the video head on tripod, or vice verser, any thoughts???

What a great way to start the week in +Andrew S Gibson's continuing series of interviews on Long Exposure photographers.
Today Andrew speaks to the Greek based Architect and photographer +Julia Anna Gospodarou 
Julia's is one of the most amazing long exposure photographers out there today.
Her attention to detail from the initial composition and processing, on to the final image is one of the hallmarks of her work.
One of the rare photographers were you can actually see the work that has gone into the final image.
You could look at any one of her images without any accompanying text and  immediately see that this was her work.
If you want to see Fine Art Black and White photography at its best, look no further.

Hi everyone,
Just discovered this community on G+ and thought i'd introduce myself.
I'm Michael Diblicek a 52 year old Black and White Fine Art photographer living in Eastern France.

I was born in Hamstead, London in 1960, and have worked mainly in the printing and packaging world, as well as a graphic designer and lastly as a studio photo manager in Eastern France.
I am now a full time professional photographer and co-founder of the +Glass Star Agency which offers photo workshops and events around the world for those interested in Long Exposure seascapes and architecture.

I am now looking at the world of motion and in particular Timelapse, and hope to be able to contribute to this community as well as learn a great deal more about this wonderful art form.
