Steamed mussels in a lemongrass and coconut milk broth

Not bad for a first attempt. This recipe from +delicious. magazine was quick and relatively simple to make. If I were to make any adjustments to it I think I would use lemongrass paste next time but that is only a minor change.

Ruth did most of the work while I acted as sous chef. For our first attempt at cooking mussels I would say it was a massive success and I'm not sure why we've never bothered cooking them before.

I would rate this dish 9/10

New toy arrived today: raspberry pi

Not entirely sure what I'm going to do with it yet but having spoken to +Simon Croft I think I might get it setup as a media centre connected to my 1tb hd. That said, my hard drive already plays video, images and music so I don't necessarily need that.

I'm open to interesting uses of the raspberry pi as a project I am involved in locally is going to be working with schools to get kids using them. The more experience I have playing with these things, the better.

When people start controlling the cameras in their lives that is when the state intervenes but it never stopped the state or corporates from putting Cameras everywhere and recording , monitoring and managing everything. Despite definitely not being in a Hangout video call at this moment in time, Google+ is telling me I am in a video call. I try to connect with the person I want to call yet it puts me in room with them but without any connection. Neither party can hang up on the call despite us both repeatedly turning our devices off completely. #hangouts   #fail

Personal Branding and an Angry Face Sticker

You may not be aware of my morning walks and podcast talk but it's something I started a couple of weeks ago. It's a simple premise. I got for a short walk (2-4 miles) in the morning while listening to a podcast. I summarise my thoughts and share a photo from the walk every weekday morning .

This morning's podcast was Six Pixels of Separation by +Mitch Joel. The latest episode looked at personal brands and it made me realise I probably don't give enough thought to my own personal brand. I post what I like, share a few blogs that I write and care little for how I am perceived.

I should probably change that. I have reigned myself in and I'm less ranty about things I dislike compared to how I was a few years ago but I should probably be a little more focused in my output.
