The problems humans have with learning are emotional (we are afraid of starting, not afraid of actually doing the hard work) and almost never intellectual.

Inspired by +Lauren Weinstein and +Sai's posts on Google+'s poor handling of long text posts, I've updated +Replies and More to auto-expand text posts. 

This will automatically click the "Read More" link, and hide the "Show Less" link. Since +Replies and More is opinionated software, I've turned this on by default.

Hangouts video chat blocked by AT&T

Oh, AT&T... If you're on AT&T's network and trying to use Hangouts video chat, you're probably experiencing issues. This isn’t the first time that AT&T has blocked video chat apps from working properly on its network, iPhone users may remember that FaceTime had issues when it first launched. Oddly enough, AT&T isn't blocking Hangout video calls on iPhones this time around, just Android.

Looks like +T-Mobile is a viable option, once again. (Hangouts work fine on Verizon for what it's worthy).

For #photographers   and #artists  worried about the new #autofix  feature. You don't have to disable it if you don't want to....

"If you'd like to restore your photo to it's original state, remove Auto Enhance by viewing that photo and unticking Auto Enhance in the menu."

"You can check to see if Auto Enhance has been used on your photo by hovering over your photo. Photos that have been enhanced will have a  indicator in the corner. You can enhance photos that you've previously added to Google+ by selecting Auto Enhance from the More menu."

So on Sunday night I became acutely allergic to something in my environment and over the next 36 hours broke out in a 70% body rash of angry hives. (Yuck)
So after a steroid injection this afternoon, finally my skin is beginning to return to normal. Feet still itch like crazy though.

+Carmelyne Thompson I've found a flaw in the script.

If you have the notification window open for any reason, for example reading or replying, the notification window loses focus. (although thankfully the draft is not lost).

Not liking the new Google+ font? Is it hard on your eyes?

There are some known issues with the new webfont in use (Roboto), with kerning and rendering on some configurations. Other users have reported general visual problems with the new font, which kerning fixes probably won't address.

Before going further, if you are actually having visual problems reading the new font, hover over the "Home" arrow on the left to get the drop-down menu, then choose "Send feedback" near the bottom to express your concerns. This information is used to help quantify the extent of user [dis]satisfaction with the UI.

So, if you would like to force Google+ to render in Arial (or failing that, your system's "sans-serif" font which is likely an Arial/Helvetica lookalike) by default, install this Stylish script with either the Stylish extension... more »

Go to the new navigation bar on the left (press home).
Choose What's Hot
Press the cog icon
Deselect "Show Posts In Home Stream"

Voila!

If you browse away from your homescreen "feed" to say a community and are in 3-column view, when you come back you lose the "Share what's new..." box
