The G8 usually gathers just once a year. Can you get them all together in less than 20 seconds?

In a matter of days, the world’s most powerful leaders are coming to the UK for the G8, and hunger is on the agenda. Play our G8 game to get world leaders round the table and taking action, share the game with your friends – and tell us your high (or low) score! Can you Gather All 8? > http://bit.ly/10LPmyk

Together, we’re stronger. We’re working alongside 13 other charities as part of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), and today we've launched an appeal to help ensure we reach the millions of children affected by the conflict in Syria.

We’re doing all we can to reach children with water, medicine and clothing, but our funds are limited. Your support can really make a difference to Syria’s children – from purchasing mattresses and blankets, to providing emotional support to help them come to terms with the horrific experiences they’ve been through. Find out more about how you can help here > http://bit.ly/YqVnPq

Sana* is one of MILLIONS of children who’ve been scarred by the brutal civil war in Syria.

Today, the numbers fleeing Syria topped 1 million. We’re doing whatever we can to provide food, warm coats and access to education across different areas in Syria and in neighbouring countries. But we urgently need YOUR help to bring this back to the top of world leaders’ agendas.

On March 14 – the eve of the second anniversary of the conflict’s outbreak – we’re holding a Global Vigil for Syria to send a message to the world’s five most powerful leaders. You can join us in demanding they unite to help bring peace to Syria and get aid to victims. Use Facebook or Twitter to add your message: just sign up now and, on March 14, we’ll launch all your messages at the same moment.

No-one forgets the first hour of their baby’s life: the excitement, the happiness and the nerves. But imagine if you didn’t have any access to healthcare when your child was born – how would you begin to know what was best for your newborn baby?

For millions of mums around the world, this is their reality.

In the poorest countries, mothers often don’t have access to the support and advice they desperately need when they’ve just had a baby. Mothers in these countries are often misinformed about what is best for their babies, particularly in their crucial first hour. Over 800,000 babies die every year under these tragic and preventable circumstances.

Want to find out how you can help put a stop to this? Click here > http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/power-of-the-first-hour

IF the world produces enough food for everyone, why are over 200 children dying of hunger every hour?

It’s unfair, it’s unjust, and it’s totally preventable, but only IF enough of us join together to demand change. We’ve joined forces with over 100 organisations and formed ENOUGH FOOD FOR EVERYONE IF to end this scandal, but we need YOUR help too. This summer, the UK will be hosting the G8 summit and we want global hunger to be top of the agenda. We can be the generation to ensure every child has a life free from hunger. IF we act together and act now.

Right now, here in the UK, 1.6 million children are growing up in severe poverty.

Children like seven-year-old Lauren, who don’t have the basics we all expect our own children to have: simple things like a warm home, hot meals and a bedroom free from damp and mould.

We launched our first public appeal for our UK work, to help poor families and children who are suffering the brunt of the recession. Support our work and help us give every child in the UK a chance > http://bit.ly/Ur6dRY

In the 30’s and 40’s, we fought for children’s right to adequate nutrition in the UK. Our campaigning was a success: the Education Act of 1944 made it compulsory that all schools in the UK provide milk to children under the age of 18.

We continue fight for children in the UK today by supporting some of the most vulnerable children and families. Right now, 1.6 million children live in severe poverty in the UK. Our porgrammes make sure children living in poverty get off to the best possible start in education, and we’re making sure they get the essentials they need - a hot meal, blankets, a warm bed.

It's hard to imagine going your whole life without ever seeing a doctor, no matter how sick you got. But when fundraiser Scott met Nirob's family, he realised most of the community here are living a life without healthcare...

Hello everyone! Today we’re launching an appeal to build clinics to help babies and their mums in Bangladesh.

Over the next week or so we'll be bringing you stories from some of the most remote parts of the country - because every hour of very day, 11 newborn children die here. Mothers have to go without essentials like a clinic to go to, or a midwife to help them give birth at home.

It doesn’t have to be this way. With your help, we’re raising £1 million to build clinics in some of the poorest areas to give these babies the basic healthcare that will save their lives.

Visit our virtual clinic now and have a look around. See the sorts of equipment and supplies we need to fund – and take part in the builds by buying your very own brick…!

A huge thank you to all of you who've signed our Syria petition so far. We now have more than 27,000 signatures from around the world - but as today marks a year of violence in the country, we'd like your help again to spread the word and get more people to sign. It's time for the violence to stop and for aid to be allowed in to help families there.

Please watch and share this first-hand account from Lebanon, where we've been able to help children and families who've made it over the border. Together, we can prove just how much public support there is for the children of Syria.

Hey everyone! We're calling on the UK government to review changes to the benefits system planned for next year. These changes will help many families – but could also leave some of the UK’s poorest parents worse off despite working longer hours.

With Mother’s Day this weekend, will you help give mums in the UK the help they need to work their own way out of poverty? Many parents want to work to provide for their children. But the cost of childcare and losing benefits means that working often isn’t a route out of poverty.

Will you show your solidarity with UK mums by signing our manifesto, which calls on Chancellor George Osborne to make sure mums don’t lose out.

Happy Valentine's day everyone! Today, we'd like to introduce you to Nadia from Pakistan. When she was seven months old, one of our health workers found that she was malnourished. So her mum, Azra, brought her to this clinic and a nurse showed Azra how to feed Nadia this high-energy paste that would help her get better.

The family was forced to flee their home because of floods, leaving behind almost all they owned. Parents like Azra around the world struggle to feed their children in really tough circumstances.

It's time to tackle hunger. Not just the effects but the causes too. Watch this space. Tomorrow, we'll be letting you know what action you can take to help...

Happy Friday! A good day to share a good news story we think. We were blown away to get new pictures in of Umi, a little girl surviving the food crisis in east Africa. Thanks to our supporters, we were able to treat her when she came to our feeding centre in Kenya. She was close to death because her family just couldn't get enough food after their livestock died because of the drought. Now she's a happy, smiling nine-month-old and is crawling and sitting and getting all her vital vaccinations...

Wesley, 5, and Joe, 6, from Blaenau Gwent in Wales sit by an electric heater in winter clothes in their living room. The heater can only be left on for half an hour at a time, as it uses too much electricity. They, like many families, are living in miserable circumstances because they are always cold and cannot afford to put the heating on. If they put the heating on then it means less money for food and other bills.

This winter, 800,000 British families could be left in the cold because of rising energy costs. No child should have their health put at risk because their parents can’t afford heating. Help us beat fuel poverty http://bit.ly/coldkid.

For our ongoing No Child Born to Die campaign we went all over the world making films about children, how we work with them and they live their lives. We did a series of out-takes that we really liked but haven't shared until now. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
