The past 3 years of my life have been brighter, I have had smiles brought to my face when all I wanted to do was cry or complain, I have had tender moments, receiving some of the tightest, most sincere hugs of all. I have learned that you can't sweat the small stuff, I have learned that I am more fortunate than others and I need to appreciate that every day, I have learned that without a doubt... I can accomplish ANY goal that I wish as long as I never give up trying, I have enjoyed silly giggles, endless smiles and been amazed at the power of perseverance and it's all because I have a child with DOWN syndrome. 

Abrielle is an asset to this world, she amazes me every single day, she has more fight in her that I have ever had; and trust me, I am a fighter.

Last Project:  Was it worth it? 

The past couple of weeks have been a pressure cooker of tension and anxiety for sure.  I have so many projects in the air and so much uncertainly that I felt like a juggler with a few extra items thrown in the mix (likely a couple of them on fire to bring it up a notch..why not?)....this was one of them.  Was it worth it?

I can't help but smile and be so thankful for gorgeous sunny days like these!  This is why I love Florida, and although this isn't a new image, it captures how I feel today:  bright, colorful,  sunny, swirly & whimsical.  Hope this kick starts you off to that kind of weekend. :)   (Oh yeah, hoping it's a 'bit over the top' too )

I decided to submit this image to #PlusOneCollection2012 .  This image represents life changing, unbridled, passion for me.  I'll never forget the day I got to fly a DC-3 and the ensuing nights of dreaming and reliving that moment over and over.  This C-47 (military version of DC-3) escaped me for several mornings.  Each of those mornings I'd crawl out of my tent, before dawn, hike the mile or so from the camp site, dodging cow pies in the dark; all to capture this moment.  It wasn't until the third morning, that I made my ritualistic trek and here she was!  More beautiful than I could've imagined.   It's because of that DC-3 flight I became an airline pilot.

Any good solutions to eliminate banding on images in PS CS6?  I'm really having  bad issues with it in sunset/sunrise images where the sky is multicolored. I've tried, applying a small amount of noise and/or small Gaussian blur, etc., all with no significant help.

Static display at this year's Reno Air Races.  This is a 7 image HDR, processed with NIK HDR Effex 2, Nik Color Efex and finished with a texture over lay.  I really love the feel of this image.

I find myself in this love hate relationship with HDR.  I love what I can find hidden in a RAW file by merging it, tonemapping and artistic play.  I hate that I can get lost as in a time vortex for hours playing with one image. 

How much time do you ~typically~ spend processing your HDR images?

This is a 32 bit image merged to HDR in PS CS6, tonemapped in LR4, moulded and shapped in Nik Color Effex Pro, Rad Lab, and On One Perfect Effects 4. 

I typically process my HDR image, save it and then play with looks processing it several different ways.  With the new abilities in PS CS6 and LR4 I have added a layer of HDR play to my mix.  I love realistic HDR, but I also totally have a love affair with the more illustrative or slightly painterly HDR that I created with NIK HDR Effex Pro or Photomatix.  Now, I'll never leave the computer with a new base line:  PS and LR32 bit ... more »

2012 was a year of a lot of 'bag draggin' (technical 'airline' term for dragging your bags through one terminal to another, etc.).  For a lot of the year, I lived continually between two bags,  a locker (wow!  I was lucky enough to have a locker in DTW!  We never get one), and a reserve supply of uniform, toiletries, etc., stashed in the crew room.  I felt like Super Women changing  into my uniform (or out of it and into street clothes) as quickly as twirling in a 360 degree circle and "POOOF!"  I was changed and on the go in another direction as a different character.

Between work, and international fun travel, I managed to get two or was it three? trips into Tennessee and Kentucky.  What I love about travel is experiencing something different than what you normally see.  Be it international travel, or domestic....if it's different...Ilove it!... more »
