Superinteresting research also for musicians! My philosophy always was that what counts the most is what I evoke in my audience.. and not what I feel myself ! Then the risk is that I just enjoy myself and it gets just a voyeur-pleasure for the audience.
I want them to get in contact with théir feelings, their dreams!
Yes: and about those both acting techniques: I use both of them to create the moods of my pieces.
But I prefer the so-called "cold" because we musicians have to create with every piece a new mood and don't play one big role, it would be emotionally rollercoaster to jump into all those different settings..
It was one of the unpayable benefits of a non bacherlored/mastered student epoque that I had a enough free time to spend endless hours in the stage classes, today giving me some of the best "tools" to feel home on stage!!!

It is already my 75th classical guitar video of the week ( you can find the whole playlist on my youtubechannel- or here with searching the hashtag #gitarra).. and this week I found a treasure from the past: Superyoung Tilman Hoppstock playing in German TV in 1987!! Today he is professor in Darmstadt, wonderful soloist and chamber musician and has a small but exquisite festival in Darmstadt every december ... The piece is one of the most famous nonguitar-pieces in guitar repertory originally from the de Falla's ballet music and he plays it phantastic!

Me playing music by Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven in transcriptions, variations and fantasias by Johann Kaspar Mertz, Joseph Kreutzer, Diabelli, Molitor and Jan Nepomucem de Bobrowicz... it was a program I was dreaming of for a long time, putting together my opera and piano background with the guitar, really happy about it!!

+Valentina Lisitsa playing at a train station in London .. and proofing the famous Joshua Bell video, the people don't realize that there is a star playing!
On the +Musikmesse Frankfurt I made the experience: if there are just some people listening with a lot of attention the crowd can get hugh, but if you play for no one, nobody wants to be the first to stay- so the next time for a video like that should bring maybe five people who listen and see what happens then!

I have already posted some videos here with more than one player on one guitar- so here now a guitarist with two guitars! Open your ears for this voyage into the sounds of New Music, highly focussed performed by Italian guitarist +Elena Casoli , reknown specialist for contemporary music. The composer Giacinto Scelsi ( 1905-1988) is still enigmatic, nobleman, dandy, poet, no approved photo existing, he wrote spherical music with lots of written down improvisation and using microtonalities...a musical world on its own to discover!

Last week my video of beautiful Anna Likhacheva, here now Ana Vidovic, 10 years older than her Russian collegue.. and she has been setting the standards for selling female guitarist optical skills nowadays, every guitar player has Ana's promo pics in mind...
And she wins every poll of who is the hottest guitarist if you follow these kind of threads in guitar forums - and whereever she is topic of discussion it gets very polemic and controversal, people ( especially men) adore her, but also there are people who don't like her superclean highvirtuoso playing..
so please listen once without looking to really appreciate her playing!

Anna Likhacheva is one the fastest rising new young stars in guitar world, she is now 19 (!!!!!!) years old... and if you forget all the optical presentation ( those "lookhowexpressiveiam"-poses she did in all her childhood videos disappear more and more nowadays..thanks!), behind the stunning looks of this beauty you hear a profound musician with phantastic musicality, great technical skills and a huge repertory ( check out her channel) - and she is great on stage..
I did not choose one of those hypertechnical showpieces, here she is playing Bach ..and she plays beautifully!
So keep her name in your mind...

Today I choose a rare video, Serenade by Sofia Gubaidulina written 1960 played by Dutch guitarist +Jelma van Amersfoort - I am always curious to meet music written for guitar by women.. and here it is a beautiful piece by a reknown composer, really worth to discover - and if my informations are right her only work for guitar solo.
I met Jelma two weeks ago for the first time at the Lake Konstanz Guitar Research Meeting, she gave a superinteresting speach about women guitar composers in France early 19th century, now listening to her music.
