I wish I could say there was a funny story behind how this came to be, but really, I was just trying to commute to work on my bike... and instead, ended up missing work due to a broken ankle... that will be requiring surgery once the swelling goes down.

Minus the crazy fans thing, I want to say that I personally enjoyed the Southern Vampire Mysteries series. Sure, I'll be sad to see it end - just like I am for any series (book or television) that I get really into - but I'll also be grateful that it ever existed at all.

Ms. Harris is a fantastic storyteller, and I enjoyed the books way more than the spinoff tv show (True Blood). It's one of the few series that I'm happy to have followed, and have read through it multiple times. I hope she can find a peaceful life after ending the series and that the crazy fans don't ruin everything she's built.

Reading the reactions people are having about the upcoming cicadas season, it's all I can do not to grin and giggle. This isn't a yearly thing here? Really? Try living in the South, where it's hot as fuck, humid as hell, and you get to listen to these little bastards all summer long. Then you can complain about it, a'ight?

This was super easy, inexpensive, and tasted bloody fantastic! Though I think the potatoes were just a tad bit undercooked for my liking (they were cooked through, just not to the consistency that I like so I'd recommend closer to 25 minutes cook time on those, as opposed to 20), everything else was awesome. 

I've still got 3 more servings left for myself, plus half of the ingredients left over to cook another batch, so not bad for $15 to be able to get that much out of it. It was filling without being overly heavy, and didn't take long to make.

I will be working on creating more planned meals in the future, but I was extremely tight on funds this week, so I'm working with what I've got. Being able to easily make do for an entire week off of $15 and haves... more »

I just realized that since it is Free Comic Book Day today that not only should the comics be available in stores, but also through the Comics app, I thought to pull it up and check: and YES!!

So, if you're not able to get to your LCBS and you still want to pick up your free comics (or if the one(s) you wanted were gone when you got there), and you're using Android (because I'm not checking iOS - use your search tools, that's what they're there for), you can pick up the FCBD comics through the Comics app. :D

Okay, Google... So you updated Search for iOS... Why can't you do the same for Android 4.0 and below if you're not going to be giving us Now anytime soon? :\

Or, better yet, get manufacturers to quit loading ICS or Gingerbread on brand new phones! My phone's only a year old from its original release date, and was released with Gingerbread, and only recently got ICS. Still waiting to see if LG and Spring will push a Jelly Bean update or not. Doubtful...

So, it's come to my attention that I hadn't even finished Season 7 of Supernatural, and now I'm an entire season behind when it comes to Season 8. I've heard some spoilers that actually make things more promising (because, really, I was having a hard time lately keeping up with the show due to waning interest), so hopefully this means I'll be able to actually enjoy the show more again without resorting to just rewatching the first five seasons over and over again.
