SEO and G+ Marketing plus one or two others...Creative Circle 1 of 11I am so impressed and enthused looking at the MicroVictoryArmy Stream  that I'm going to do something radical. I"m going to share my other circles, invite the members to join MVA, and then I'm going to delete all those circles so I can give more attention here.  I will keep  one circle of people like the +Dalai Lama  and +Richard Branson  who I would love to have join MVA but I don't want to lose track of if they don't. Just over a year ago, we announced the Open Patent Non-Assertion (OPN) Pledge—committing not to sue any user, distributor, or developer of open-source software on specified patents, unless first attacked. Our goal was to encourage pro-competitive, defensive uses of patents to support open-source innovation.

Today we’re expanding the Pledge for a third time to include an additional 152 patents related to technologies that help deliver fast, secure experiences on the web, including encryption, XML parsing and prefetching. We’ve also added 5 additional patents related to the MapReduce data-processing technology created at Google.

Visit our website for more information and stay tuned for additional expansions of the Pledge: https://g.co/opnpledge.

It's great to see how many resources there are for Dart now.

There are now over 1200 packages in pub, Dart's package manager, and over 10,000 distinct package versions. Wow, way to go Dartisans!

Still lots of work to do, but it's great to see the growth in client, server, database, parsers, utilities, and general libraries.

Visit https://pub.dartlang.org to find your next package.

Fun facts:

Oldest package: http://pub.dartlang.org/packages/zart : Dart implementation of the Infocom Z-Machine (and yet at 1.0!!! :)

Newest package: http://pub.dartlang.org/packages/clean_sync : Library for automatic client server sync of data___It's great to see how many resources there are for Dart now.

New ways to promote your apps using AdWords

Use Search and YouTube to Promote Your App
Earlier this year, we announced our next generation of app promotion ads across Google Search, the Google Display Network and YouTube [[http://goo.gl/fyjZUi]. The features on the Display Network launched in June as part of Google I/O [http://goo.gl/1DQgKa]. Today, I’m excited to announce the global availability of the search ads and YouTube offerings.

There are over 100 billion searches per month on Google.com. People search here for places to visit, movies to watch or music to listen to. Sometimes this content lives on a website, sometimes it’s in an app. Now with just 3 easy steps, you can get your app into an ad by using a new, simplified campaign set-up flow that promotes your app on Google.com. Search ads created with this new flow are only shown to people who don’t already have your app, so every click is from a potential new user, saving you time and money. Click here to get started: http://goo.gl/cJ2jsJ

Once you have a large base of users who’ve installed your app, how do you keep them engaged? Starting today, you can deep link [http://goo.gl/Ol89DA] users directly from Google Search into specific pages of apps they’ve already installed by signing up for the beta here: http://goo.gl/hQvwKW.  Customers like LINE, Zoopla and Booking.com are already testing deep-linking with their apps.

The power of sight, sound and motion makes YouTube users more than 2X more likely to download apps*. Now, you can showcase your app when people are watching their favorite videos using a new enhancement to TrueView ads.  With TrueView, advertisers can reach potential customers based on their interests,
previously-watched videos and demographics. Start promoting your app on YouTube by simply linking your app’s ID to your TrueView campaigns. Learn more: http://goo.gl/jQJt9R

Principles of Site Design and Animations, two important resources for site design.

These days, designing compelling web apps and sites that load quickly, look beautiful, and are intuitive requires keeping up with lots of ever-evolving best practices. To make things easier for web designers and developers, we've been gathering and documenting our learnings over at Google Web Fundamentals. Our latest update to the site includes some great material for web designers: Principles of Site Design and Animations.

Principles of Site Design includes an invaluable collection of insights gained from user research, such as how to provide intuitive navigation, when and how to "upsell" to your apps, and streamlining user journeys.

https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/principles

Animations give much-needed personality to your projects—but what should you animate, when should you animate it, and how? Getting animations just right is key to your users' experience. Covering everything from easing to performance, these guides give you the knowledge and insight to level up your next project.

Web Fundamentals Just got an Update
/via +Google Chrome Developers

We just pushed the latest update to Web Fundamentals that includes a bunch of brand new content and updates to existing content!

Based on +Jenny Gove’s research on mobile user experience, we’ve added Principles of Site Design (https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/principles/).  For those of you looking for monetization options, we’ve added a whole new Monetization section; today it only covers ads but we’ve already started working on other ideas to build this out more (https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/monetization/). +Paul Lewis delivered an amazing new section on building animations that covers everything from how to animate, what to animate, different easing techniques and plenty more (https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/look-and-feel/animations/).

We’ve also done a whole shed load of work behind the scenes to add localization support and better ways to provide credit to authors, translators and the engineers.

Thanks to everyone who’s filed issues, created pull requests or given us feedback!  In the last six weeks, we have opened over 110 issues, merged 22 pull requests, and had more than 200 commits from 11 people.

Please keep that feedback coming, tell us about bugs, request new content, or fix it yourself if you want!

Design at the core of great Glassware
#design #glass

Strong design is at the very core of great Glassware. We know that creating a total user experience that delivers exactly what a user needs when he or she needs it is not as easy as it may seem. So, we have created the Glassware Flow Designer tool to help you design your ideal flow and lay out the best user experience before diving too deep into your coding.

We built this tool specifically for Glass using common design patterns and layouts to help you design your Glassware. Your flows are stored on Google Drive, where you can share them with colleagues, comment on them, and even edit them collaboratively. We have been using this tool and process internally and we are very excited to make this beta available to you. Here’s to great design and even more great Glassware!___Design at the core of great Glassware
