Proud to have worked on this and for the team.

Push notifications and Add to Home Screen are now available for all users of Chrome

One of the web’s superpowers is its low friction: a new site is always only a single tap away, allowing users to easily navigate through a rich diversity of experiences. The mobile web provides a great discovery experience for users and unparalleled reach for developers.
Now with Chrome 42 (current stable) we can also have the same type of deep engagement that users love from Native experiences.

Today is the day! Polymer 0.8 has landed and with it comes some MAJOR performance improvements.

https://www.polymer-project.org/0.8/

We've got a new Developer Guide and Migration Guide up on the site. Keep in mind this is an alpha release so there will most certainly be bugs and rough edges, but this is a huge step toward 1.0. Let me know if you have any questions and I can try my best to answer in this thread.

Deep App Linking is an interesting area especially on Android, my preference is that developers don't do it, but instead rely on url intent-filters.  However, if you don't agree I have documented how you should provide the best experience for users using Chrome.

Finally, a saner way to do XHR's with window.fetch()!  The Fetch API offers a cleaner, simpler API and avoids the always fun callback hell by using promises.  It's available in Chrome 42 today, and there's already a polyfill so you can start using it today.

Get started with +Matt Gaunt's HTML5Rocks primer (http://goo.gl/Ns5lS6) and if you're new to promises, be sure to check out +Jake Archibald's great primer (http://goo.gl/Npbzlk)

The capabilities are either already in the browser or coming very soon to let us build great multi-device comms apps.
