Today we are launching our new follower chart on CircleCount.
As you can see in the animation below you have a lot of options:

► show the last 7 days

► show the last 1 year

► show your custom selection
The options can be saved individually
That means that if you like to see always the follower growth in the last 7 days, you can save this as your default and will get to see on any profile exactly this chart (when you are logged in on CircleCount).

If you are an owner or a moderator of a Google+ Page this could be interesting for you. You will get a selection box in the popup of our extension on the toolbar where you can chose one of your Google+ Pages so that the current page will be shown through your page. You won't have to copy&paste the ID of your page anymore or search a page in a new tab to get there through the page. A few people here are are also plussing the page to get a notification to the current post with the direct link for the page.
Good news: You don't need this anymore! ;)

Community Creators On CircleCount
After +Jesse Wojdylo has found that the creators of a community are shown on the community (https://plus.google.com/116024884086268367178/posts/JLTo92ncWbU) we have started to collect them ;)
+Hakan Gül has mentioned that the creators are only shown when the community is created by a Google+ Page and our numbers proved him right.
+Brian Glick confirmed already that the idea of showing the creator also when they are persons not pages is noted ;)
Some statistics:
- almost 20,000 are showing the creator (and all of these creators are indeed pages)
- the page with the most communities has created 51 communities
- there is one page with 29 communities with more than 1,000 members in each of the 29 communities
- we have seen only one website collecting this information (#first!) ;)

With the update of the Google Plus design on May 15, 2013 we have quite a few changes. To help you understand some of them, I offer a visual guide to the clickable parts of a New Google Plus Post.
All the referenced or highlighted areas are clickable, including the Poster's name and profile picture. The Options Menu (expanded on the right) will show different options if you are a viewer or the author of the post.

Google+ Search Getting Better
That's quite new to me:
Search for "circlecount" is showing in the results also this post by +Mike Constantinou: https://plus.google.com/109074217811641172740/posts/PvU3Gn5RdS3
"circlecount" is not mentioned in the post (there isn't even any text in the post). "circle count" is mentioned in the linked article.
"circlecount" == "circle count" was always handled like this in the Google+ Search, but I've never seen that working also on the linked pages.

Community numbers missing
Update:
This is fixed now, community number are back again.
Unfortunately with the new layout our scripts for the communities aren't working anymore.
We will try to fix them as soon as possible which will be unfortunately earliest this evening (in around 12 hours).

No extension breakage due to the new Google+
I'm freakin' amazed right now! I was watching +Vic Gundotra present the new Google+ stream and I was thinking that for sure I would now have to work frantically for hours to adapt +Do Share to the new Google+ code.
I got home and refreshed, and to my surprise *everything still works!*
Something like this doesn't happen by chance, this shows that the Google+ team took into account that there are extensions out there that rely on Google+'s UI code, and that CSS class names and the such should not change, all this while completely redesigning how the stream looks and behaves.
Big respect!
This totally makes up to how +Dave Besbris warned against extensions breaking last time things moved around :)

OK Google, the new layout arrived here and the main points we thought we would have to fix are still working:

The most interesting part of the new features for us:
The new layout of the stream
This means a lot of work for us since probably our scripts catching the data from your profile will stop working and for sure our Chrome Extension will have problems with the new layout.
We will try to fix that as soon as possible, but we need at first to get the new layout here ;)

Most Rapid Risers (update nr. 2)
This time we have used a formula suggested by +Able Lawrence:
100 * (followers on May 12, 2013 - followers on April 12, 2013 ) / (followers on May 12, 2013 + 1.000)
The factor is now not bigger than 100 and compared to the old formula small, but you will be surprised to see the follower graphs on the following pages:

We have analyzed the last 100 posts of the first 100 persons in Euro Maestro's Who's Who List and checked the average number of interactions these posts got (divided by the number of followers to get a normalized view on the numbers).
From what we can see there is no negative trend, though many of us are missing a lot of posts in their stream in the moment.

10,000 users in 10 weeks with the new Google+ Sign In
We have started using the new Google+ Sign In on 28th of February 2013 (https://plus.google.com/+CircleCount/posts/8hVRfGKxSfi).
10 weeks later more than 10,000 different users have logged in via this new Sign In Button on CircleCount.
We don't know if this is very much for the new Sign In button on 3rd party projects, but that's a huge achievement for us!

Community Posts appear in the Google Search Results
though you have set to not show your community posts on your profile
Today we have searched for "circlecount" (we forgot the url ;) ) in incognito mode and got the attached result.
In your personal setting (https://www.google.com/settings/plus) or the settings of your page (https://plus.google.com/b/GOOGLE-ID-OF-PAGE/pages/settings/plus) you can define if your community posts should be shown on your profile or not.
It looks like this setting has no effect on the search results on google.com where the last post is shown on the right sidebar.
This is a bit surprising since you won't see these posts in the profile/page or through the API when you don't open the community itself.
Not bothering me (hey, it's a public post!) but a bit surprising.

Follower Heatmaps of the last 2 days
We are overwhelmed by the popularity of our follower map in the last days.
We have seen a lot of different maps and we would like to show you a big picture.
This picture is built up of the maps that have been generated in the last 48 hours and each map is shown only once on the picture.
If you can squarecount ;) you will be probably also surprised about the number of people who have generated their follower map in such a short time.

technical update / seo issues
We have had a server upgrade in the beginning of March, where we had a downtime of around 3.5 hours.
In these 3.5 hours the GoogleBot got a lot of errors from the pages it tried to crawl. After the 3.5 hours the website was working exactly like before, the only difference: better performance ;)
After this date, the GoogleBot has almost stopped crawling www.NoMarketPlace.com, what also led to much less "real" traffic.
Last week we have flagged the errors in the Webmaster Tools as solved, but this didn't really help, like you can see in the image.
If you have any ideas what we can do, aside from wait ;), please give us a hint!

unofficial method
Google+ is now offering a way to integrate Comments into Blogger (http://goo.gl/xHmAA).
There are already (unofficial) ways to integrate Comments in your own wordpress blog.
This unofficial way is also working for websites that are not blogs and here is how it looks like:

Country Distribution of the SUL Risers
After the great discussion on our post about the Effects of the SUL Change in the last days and after +Eileen O'Duffy mentioned that maybe the "new" SUL is not rolled out everywhere, we have taken a look at the country distribution of the people who have had the biggest change in their follower number growth.
And here are the results:
► We have analyzed 1,000 profiles with the biggest change
► 51% have not set a publicly visible location
► out of the remaining profiles with a publicly visible location 55.4% are from the United States
► followed by Canada (5.3%), UK (4.4%), Brazil (3.3%), Germany (3.0%), France (2.9%), India (2.3%), Japan (2.0%), Australia (1.6%), Spain (1.2%), Italy (1.0%)

Effects of the SUL Change in the last days
We have seen some very interesting posts about the new SUL (=Suggested Users List), for example by +Derek Ross (http://goo.gl/aLuJa) or by +Jesse Wojdylo (http://goo.gl/oYLRh).
The problem is that even +Yonatan Zunger and +Vic Gundotra don't know anything about this change like you can see in the comments in Derek's post.
Maybe we can help them a bit with this list ;)
We have checked our database for profiles where the growth of the follower numbers changed significantly.
We have used a very specific method by comparing the growth from March 11th to March 18th vs. April 11th to April 18th.
We have used the growth for a week to avoid any weekday/weekend effect in the comparison.

We had a very good discussion with +Richard Hoefer and +Bearman Cartoons here: https://plus.google.com/+CircleCount/posts/AMbHGT3Qu1m and one idea was to feature a special group of people and not only the most followed or most engaging ones.
I think this circle is not really what +Richard Hoefer meant, but it goes hopefully in the right direction ;)
We like such unusual shared circles, since these people didn't act because we have offered to share them in a circle afterwards.

Based on all the amazing feedback you’ve shared, we know that being able to move posts from one discussion category to another is at the top of your wish list. We’re excited to announce that moving posts is now possible, and will be rolled out to all moderators throughout the day.
To move posts between categories:
1) Go to a community that you moderate, and find a post you’d like to move
2) Click on the post’s current category (located at the top next to the date)
3) Select the new category you’d like to move the post to
