.......ANNND this wraps up my #2012project52   #gplusproject522012   #project522012   for the year with the last two themes, "Mirrors" and "Christmas".

What a fun, challenging, and helpful project! Really helped me think outside the box, and kept me hopping each week to fit the week's theme into my schedule...'fraid I sorta fizzled out at the end, with Christmas festivities and preparations all competing for my time....but, nevertheless, I did finish before the end of the year...:o)

Thanks again to the great curators who faithfully watched over the project and offered their encouraging words throughout...

I won't be joining next year, as I think I want to slow down and do a portrait project on a little bigger scale once a month that will hopefully bring the reward of more business prospects...

"Winter"
We don't get many 'winter' days, in the sense of snowy landscapes, in the PNW, as our winters are just wet and grey, mostly...but I still look forward to the early evenings, sitting by the cozy fire with a warm cuppa tea, and a project of some sort to keep my hands busy while I ponder life....

So, winter gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, rather than a cold blue feeling...:O)

We are very fortunate to have a beautifully restored vintage theatre in our little town, and it is often filled to capacity for a variety of shows, productions and local events.

"Smiles"  
This week's #2012project52   #gplusproject522012   #project522012  theme. I think this is the first week I have not taken a picture specifically for the theme, but since this images is only a couple of weeks old, I thought it would work. 

My favorite smiles are these kind; if you look real close, you will see that my handsome little nephew is smiling through his tears during a recent photo session...and yet he is still saying 'back off' with his little hand. What a trooper--so tolerant of his auntie and her camera! LOL!

This week's theme for #project522012   #gplusproject522012   #2012project52  is "Vanishing Point". I think the usual illustrations of this technique use buildings/architecture/streets, etc. so you can follow actual lines with your eyes into the image so show depth.  But, I liked what I found in nature...although I guess the vanishing 'points' of the trees was a bit of a stretch...;P

This little fella discovered my kitty's cozy bed, and decides she did not need to have it all to herself, so he attempts to stuff the whole thing in his mouth!!! When that didn't work he decides he will just have to haul it off to his lair, so starts tugging on it for all he's worth! Quite the hilarious scene!!

Sigh Okay, so I don't really 'do' Halloween, but since that was the theme for the next week's #2012project52  , #gplusproject522012  , #project522012 , I decided I may as well see just how 'ghoully' I could go...
a medical skull lying around the house certainly comes in handy in a situation like this.... 
I composited the skull image over a portrait of my boy and added/created the drama...:O) My favorite part was adjusting my signature...Mwahahaha!

Then I also noticed that there were other themes I could add this too, so I decided to post it early! :O)

So....for anyone who does event photography.
I am looking for a way to download images I take with my Olympus E3 to a Motorola Xoom on site for viewing. I usually show clients images on the back of the camera, but this event will be at an assisted living center, so they may not have a as good of eyesight....it would be great if they could hold the Xoom, and the images show up on the tablet for them to pick from immediately after they are shot. Wirelessly would be great, but a long cord would be acceptable as well. 
Any ideas out there in Google + land?

"Reflections"
Week 44 of #2012project52  , #gplusproject522012  , #project522012  ...
I was looking all over for reflections of things in water, silverware, mirrors, eyes....then I got distracted outside by all the pretty fall colors so I started shooting some foliage. After chimping this image in the viewfinder, realized that the thorn was 'reflecting' the light of the sky!! I liked it. :O)

Any G+ computer techies out there able to help me?
My computer has been acting strained lately, heating up, and I can hear USB ports kicking on and off. I ran a scan on it in safe mode and it was clean, so I went to "Devices and Drivers" and found "X's" on my computer and a printer. After troubleshooting, I get these messages;
1) "Consumer IR device has driver problems"
2) "UDS Master Bus of Kernal USB Software Bus by TCP doesn't have a driver"
3) "Hardware changes might not have been detected"
Of course, I tried to download the drivers from the troubleshooting screen, and it doesn't work. I also went to Windows update and made sure I was up to date, and after the restart, I get, "USB Control Center installation incomplete. Please reinstall" (This is for a one port wireless print server)

I have always enjoyed seeing images with lots of negative space...yet, it was a challenge to make one for myself...especially using light and shadow as the medium, rather than item placement in a scene...
But, I decided I liked this one....:o)

Had to look far and wide to come up with an image for this week's theme of #2012project52   #gplusproject522012   #project522012   of "Autumn/Spring" As mentioned earlier, the Pacific Northwest is enjoying a late "indian summer", with beautiful days and crisp evenings. Finally found this small evidence of fall at a local park...but the leaves were ugly, so I dressed it up with a bit of art.....:O)

While I did have a good showing out in my garden, the one bloom that I am most thrilled to see is the water lily that blooms yearly in my water garden! I usually only get one bloom a year, so it is a special treat.....:O)

Okay....does anyone on here use Quicken Home and Business 2012? I am trying to connect downloaded transactions (a credit card payment) to a recieved payment transaction. It is tagged and categorized, but because the amount is different due to the credit card companies fee deduction, I can not seem to connect them, and now it has the same income twice!! Really messes with my cash flow reports...}:/
Can anyone help?

After hearing an ominous THUD at my front window, I ran over to scan for the carcass of a "distracted-while-flying" bird. Didn't see anything on the ground but noticed this little guy sitting and quivering on the branch, so ran to get my camera. After taking one image, (the only one I got, so please ignore the blurry nostrils...;o) a larger bird flew past, which startled this guy into a flurry of activity, jumping around in the tree and chirping. Obviously, the injury has been like that for a while, for he was quite adept at hopping around on one leg!

Okay, for those of you in my Techie circle, Windows is trying to update, but my computer is not allowing it. I keep getting the "Failure configuring Windows updates, reverting changes" notification. I have tried the Microsoft "Fixit" fella, and I tried to manually update through the system security route, with no luck. Any ideas? Please don't tell me my HD is going out, as I might faint...O.o

Awww...one of my favorite themes....this weeks'  #2012project52   #gplusproject522012   #project522012  was "Portrait". So, I took my favorite model out and we had a good time practicing for her upcoming senior portrait session..:O)
I like the back lighting, but not sure if it is a little too strong to use with just a reflector...wondering if I should have used OCF instead...?

Week 28 for #project522012   #2012project52   #gplusproject522012   was "My Hometown".
This is Aberdeen, Washington, fondly known by some locals as the "Gateway to the Olympic Peninsula". A cozy little town snuggled along the bank of the Chehalis River, it was founded in 1884 by Samuel Benn. Aberdeen's economic survival has been mostly dependent upon the timber and fishing industries, and as such has been hard hit by regulations and restrictions concerning harvesting natural resources. We are the home port for the Lady Washington, which portrayed the HMS Interceptor in the Pirates of the Caribbean...
Unfortunately, as a 7 image, stitched panorama made small enough to be seen on most monitors, much detail has been lost, but hopefully you can make out a little town here....:O)

Well this is the first week of #2012project52   #gplusproject522012   #project522012  that I actually have four images that I like about equally, so it was a hard choice for me to decide which one to post for my official entry in this week's theme, "Red, White and Blue". 

In the end, I decided on a patriotic image, because, well, I am not ashamed of my country, and the Fourth of July is just around the corner...:O)

I will probably put the others in my "extras" album-just for grins...:O)

#2012project52   #gplusproject522012   #project522012  's theme this week was "Water". I had this shot in the back of my mind for a while, but it was a lot harder than I anticipated...shooting glass without a ton of reflections involves making sure the strobes are brighter than the surroundings, and also that they are coming from behind the glass, or they will leave their own mark. Plus, I would have increased the viscosity of the water if I knew how, as it is very splattery and messy, so Photoshop was my friendly tidy-up-er...
But, over all, I am satisfied with the learning experience...;o)
