So today we did a +Quiet London photowalk starting from Victoria. I had such a good time :)
Here are a few photos of the walk and some of the lovely and interesting people that walked.

Introducing our newest team member +James O'Gorman! Let’s hope he knows the back streets of London better than +Yoon-Mi Kim!
We’ll be meeting at Victoria train station (Cafe Ritazza near Platform 1) for our next Quiet London walk, then winding our way through the London streets, ending at Trafalgar Square and maybe having a drink somewhere nearby. We’ll be sharing jokes, photography tips and just shooting the breeze. Everyone is welcome, no matter what sort of camera you have or what standard you think you are :)
We look forward to walking, talking and shooting with you!

So of late my posting has been sporadic at best and today the brilliant and funny +Scott Cramer asked me a question. It blew away a lot of the funk in my head that has been accumulating of late. The question was to do with vision and how do we get to the end result we want. Below are some of my musings. They work from me, and will probably not work for anyone else. Just thought I'd share. Thanks +Scott Cramer.
So with regards to vision, when I shoot something normally clicks in my head. It's mercurios at best but it pushes what I'm shooting to be aligned to something I've come across previously and associates it with that because my brain has decided it'll fit together. And that's normally how I shoot my own work (not paid gigs. They tell me what they want and I try and give that to them). I'm never dogmatic enough to assume what I am going to shoot will align wi... more »

The next time someone states I have a D800 and doesn't reply to my question 'Why did you need to mention that' please bear in mind my shots on a Nikon D90 and D7000. I'll have them judged against yours in a heartbeat.
It's not all about the kit. If you have the stones to reply to this, and I'll gladly shoot it out with you. Otherwise grow up. You're an embarrassment. Sow your agenda in public or pick on someone who isn't gong to call you on it. You're a twat. And yup, I'll do it to your face as well.

I'm not a fan of this paper, but they had the picture of a football hooligan punching a horse. It's all very eighties what with Thatcher in the headlines as well.
What a nimrod!

Passenger Side Window - Photo project by Johnny Tergo.
It's a really interesting idea. Set up your lights and camera in the back of your truck and trigger them remotely. bet that surprised a few people!

A pier on London's Southbank
I shot this same place/composition last year. It never felt quite right to me, so while out shooting with +Laurence Taylor on a wander along the Thames, I thought I'd give it another go again as I was going to pass it on my way home anyway. This was my first big walk with a camera and tripod since I popped my back a few months ago. It would have been a pretty depressing walk without someone to laugh and chat with. Cheers +Laurence Taylor :)

Wearing this rif of an existing credit card logo I'd always be worried what people would think was on my back!
I think it's more legible now +Terry McNeil :-)

It's a cankers shot as it was shot with a cheap telephoto lens that a mate leant to me, but the name of the sponsor of the car just kinda stood out......

I'm so manly, I stay in the car as my wife watches the racing. It's okay though. I'll make tea and do the laundry tonight.

While I'm not into bashing aspiring and passionate photographers, these shots can safely be stared at with incredulous looks and comments like 'Why?' and 'What was going through your head when you were processing this?'
And again 'Why?'

I'm pretty certain our bin men don't do that. They leave the bin askew sometimes, but clearly we've got off lightly!

So, this image represents a change in Quiet London. Three drinks. One for each admin. +Andrew Clifton-Brown is the pint of Becks , +Yoon-Mi Kim is the Red wine, and the half of Boddingtons is +James O'Gorman.
We are really pleased that James has joined us and is an ideal fit for +Quiet London. He likes to laugh, walk and take Photo’s and doesn’t take life too seriously on the whole.
We’re glad you joined us James! The next round is on you......;)

Very interesting. Fans having a say. My daughter told me about the Veronica Mars movie being funded last week and the possibilities it could afford to other enterprises.

The complete Brian Bolland - And I have a signed copy!!!!
This was a gift from the lovely +Nikki Cartlidge. I met her on G Plus recently and IRL at a +Quiet London photowalk. We clicked straight away and I saw that she reads comics. She mentioned that her ex boss drank with Brian Bolland. _I squeed_. The reason being that he is my all time favourite comic artist. After seeing Bolland draw Dredd, Tweak and Spikes Harvey Rotten I fell in love with his work. His later work like the covers for the invisibles still take my breath away.
Anyhow, on the Quiet London walk +Nikki Cartlidge pulled out a wrapped up present and gave it to me. I opened it up a bit puzzled to be honest and this book was inside the wrapping. To say I was a little gobsmacked was an understatement. And then to see that it has been signed by Brian Bolland to me with an in-joke in brackets made me a bit wobbly... more »

Happy Birthday +Dirk Reul!
Below is a shot of the Eggstremists. They have been after +Dirk Reul for quite a while to be honest as he uses their kind quite a lot in his fantastic cooking.
The thing is, I haven't seen +Dirk Reul for a while. I have no idea where he is.......
p.s. I cannot draw at all so the longest part of setting up this shot was my drawing on the egg!

So, it took me until yesterday to work out what to do for +Ashlan Nathens birthday. I photoshopped a picture of him with mad looking eyes and a mad smile. I had written a story that +Ashlan Nathens was such a nice guy, he had to have a polar opposite. So jumping around a few parallels dimensions I found a nasty +Ashlan Nathens. Turns out he was in fancy dress and try as I might I couldn't find a nasty Ash!
Anyhow post finishing it I realised the way I want to celebrate his birthday is to show people something he drew for me.
Happy Birthday +Ashlan Nathens!! I hope you have a fantastic day!

A mate just brought a photomag and these came free with it. I thought they looked really naff until I started reading all of the lenses specs. I want a pack now!
