So, I'm at my corporate office (i.e. Starbuck's, not a sexy of a place that +Mike Elgan or +Bruce Reyes-Chow frequents, but I'm not sure anything cooler nearby).

Anyway, I'm grading papers here so that our public will see what teachers do when they are not in the classroom. Plus, I can't anything done in my classroom or even moreso at home, so this works for me.

A current student of mine walks in and upon seeing me goes like all omg and stuff. While I know it's possible that teachers are not ever allowed out of their classrooms and to be actually seen in public. We do so...quite a bit even.

My advice to all students everywhere: this situation is only awkward if you allow it to be awkward.

Unless if you're awkward by your very nature...well then...there's that.

I will state unequivocally that our heroes should be those that defend us and/or help us on a daily basis.

However, I still like to see a Batman because anyone can be Batman.

During the Boston situation, I read the best and the worst that social media had to offer. I was also reminded why I no longer view cable news.

One quote from +Bill Goodykoontz 's piece that resonated with me was, "' Twitter isn’t beating the tar out of cable news on this story. Newspaper reporters on Twitter are'"

I couldn't agree more.

I wonder why Cable News got so many of the facts wrong whereas journalists who work for Newspapers knew how to accurately assess the situation?

It was first published on Monday but I read it in today's edition. The writer references the growing trend of craft beer nationwide and in Arizona. I have noticed an increase in demand and availability for beer that is better than the major outlets (who won't be named) during the past four years or so; this demand may have been growing before then.

I know pro sports is a business and this was a business decision.

However, he's playing in a different colored jersey, and one that I really dislike.

This reaction doesn't reach the player-that-will-never-be-named intensity for me, but it's still somewhat disappointing.

Yes, I'm employing hyperbole... it's just sports and I should be this concerned about world issues (and I am), but I'm prone to get distracted easily... what's that cool thing over there? Gotta go.
