When out shooting with my DSLR, I usually carry some sort of aerial rig with me as well. As I stood up far on a cliff with my Canon camera, I zoomed down onto the vacant beach below to grab a few more views with my +DJI Inspire 1 quadcopter.

Not a terrible shot if you ask me.

Last year I started photographing the coastline near my home, specifically that black ribbon of awesome we know as Highway One.
They are actually repaving this road now, so expect more shots like this over the summer.... lucky me.

Oh gosh, where do I even start?

When we are out and about, its more like Thelma and Louise post cosmetic surgery gone-right. It's more like a couple of guys on a mission that usually includes items like bacon, Nutella, flowers and a stray elephant seal (don't ask).

Its more like a couple of old souls coming together right when we seem to need it the most.

His name is +Alan Shapiro and he's one of my best friends on this big old marble we call home.

Today is his birthday, so how about we all toss him a bit of frosting.

Living here in California means living in earthquake country. I've always been fascinated by shifting tectonic plates and how they shape our landscape.

In the six grade I did my science fair project on the San Andreas fault and took second place. Buzz Aldrin himself handed me my medal, after he returned from the moon. What a proud moment for this guy.

About this picture:
