What if....

Many people here don't get to see a hummingbird feeding in real life, so I do my best to get out and take a decent picture to share with you. 

This particular bird is called an Anna's Hummingbird. 

Lately I sort of lost the zeal to get out and take more pictures. Perhaps it will come back, perhaps not. Either way I have many that still need to be processed and posted and I will get to those as time provides itself. 

You gals and guys have been so very good to me. :)

I just got a lot of yard work done in a short amount of time. Somewhere among the way I found a herd of lawn gnomes playing poker, a dog I didn't know I had and an underground lair.

I've always had that connection.

Nature has always had a huge impact in my life... and always will.  I figure it must have been something in my grandmothers DNA as she had that connection too. 

I could almost feel this wild Desert Big Horn Sheep's soul as I approached. I do not ever give the idea I am afraid, and nor should he be. I can hear his breathing and monitor my distance based on his body language. Temperature on this day: 117F (47C).

It's in these moments I feel that connection. No connection, no shutter press.

As always, my world is your world.

I do love me some pelican.

The Brown Pelican is the smallest of the eight species of pelican, and one of two who dive-bomb for food. Even being the small guy comes with a 6-8+ foot [1.8 to 2.5 meter] wingspan.

It's Alive -- Davenport, California

I had been hearing rumors about how +Barry Blanchard might have fallen all the way down the RC copter rabbit hole.

I Hope this photo clears up that confusion.

That's a Hexacopter (why go with four rotors when you can have six) hovering over Barry's shoulder with a gyro stabilized, gimbal mounted, Sony NEX-7 camera between the landing feet.

Basically, I found Barry at the bottom of the rabbit hole watching a live transmission of the video feed from copter on a pair of video goggles.

Shot this with two lights. The Key was an SB-900 into a Lumiquest Softbox III on a stand high above camera. The second light was a bare SB-800 on a stand back and off to camera right. This was lighting the underside of the copter.
