+Google why are you glorifying war??? And one-sided as well?
Come on. You're an international company. Why offend so many people? If you want to show how a child misses her dad/mum who is at war, do so but don't brandish flags.
Highly disappointed in this.

$35 dollars, 16 parts, 27 hours, a high-tech printer and instructions from the Internet were all it took for Australian police to fabricate a 3D gun powerful enough to penetrate 17 centimeters – a shot that could be fatal.
Police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) created and tested two 3D-printed guns made with blueprints produced by US firm Defense Distributed and an AUD$1,700 3D printer. Tests conducted with the guns produced both a “catastrophic failure” that could be deadly for the individual wielding the firearm, as well as a shot capable of killing a target.

CPDRC Dancing Inmates or the CPDRC dancers is a collective of prison inmates in Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), a maximum security prison in Cebu, in Cebu Province, Philippines where the prisoners perform dance routines as part of their daily exercise and rehabilitation, and many of their performances are filmed and released online, making them a popular feature among fans and veritable online celebrities.

120 Billion is lost in the UK through tax fraud and havens. This is roughly the same amount spent on the UK's National Health Service. Time for the British Prime Minster David Cameron to take action over tax havens?

Question is:
What do you think the outcome will be at the next federal election. +1 the option from below. So as to not get cluttered with comments, no commenting is allowed. Closing the poll this Friday night.

Living CitiesWafer-thin artificial leaves separate with the rising sun as buildings wake up. They continue to follow the sunlight over the course of the day, sucking dew and carbon dioxide out of the air. These substances are filtered into the fleshy fabric within the walls of our homes, not dead spaces but active processors, like stomachs packed with thriving microbial colonies. They generate heat, recycle grey water and filter effluents to produce rich, native soil that has a commercial value and is used to grow plants in green plots, or window boxes. We are now producers, not consumers.
There are no more infertile stretches of asphalt sprawled over our urban rooftops but an expanse of vegetation which processes the city’s rich chemical landscapes – and it is no longer possible to tell which of these vibrant structures are artificial, or natural. This is the opening paragraph from an art... more »

nstead of fingernail-sized cells, the new machine produces solar cells 30 cm wide – a key step in making ink-printed solar cells compete on price with conventional technologies.
CSIRO's Dr Scott Watkins told The Register that to get the large-sized cells, the consortium focussed on developing materials that could be dissolved and coated onto a substrate. An organic compound called P3HT – a polythiophene – as the positive charge carrier, and a fullerine called PCBM as the negative charge carrier.

Can this be done with ALL companies that use either door-to-door sales people or over the phone?
A door-to-door salesman spruiking AGL's electricity and gas services in the Melbourne suburb of Coburg in late 2011 has cost the energy giant nearly $1.5 million in penalties for lying to consumers.
The $1.48 million penalty against AGL Sales and another penalty for $70,000 against AGL South Australia follow legal action by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in the Federal Court in Melbourne.

Someone I know was recently robbed and all of their belongings stolen. I'd like to take this opportunity to share a super useful program called Prey. It's a utility that attempts to help you find your stolen phone, computer or other device in the event it's stolen. It tries to use open WiFi connections to broadcast its current location, and on devices with cameras can even try to take photos of the person using it. You can control this via an online control panel and receive updates by email as to your device's current location.
It's quite amazon, and also free (though some paid options grant you extra features). Consider installing and using this just in case.

Smartphone owners will be able to pinpoint their locations with much greater accuracy in the next decade courtesy of a new robot that could also help the development of global positioning system (GPS) driven cars.
The new robot system designed to be able to measure changes in the Australian continent's crust with sub-millimetre precision was launched by Science and Research Minister Don Farrell in Canberra on Monday.
The global navigation satellite system (GNSS) robotic antenna calibration facility, which consists of two outdoor robots at a cost of $1 million, will improve the accuracy, quality and consistency of GPS data for Australians.

Curiosity here.
When you look at pages, there are people who are +1'ing the page itself. What is the benefit of that to the page since the people who are +1'ing them are not getting the pages' posts in their streams?
Any ideas anyone?
