I saw an interview when Kevin Rudd was in power. His wife was interviewed by a well known journalist who was trying to find out what she was like behind the scenes and away from her role as the wife of the Prime Minister as she was then.

In her own right she is a successful business person, as well as someone who in her own words has found her "field of fascination." I thought that was a particularly apt way to put this search many of us have had and some of us are still having.

Joseph Campbell used to say his father encouraged him to "follow his bliss." In fact his whole philosophy and attitude to life is really based on this one premise. Persistence- A Two Stage Process

The first stage is to see yourself differently than you have done.

First to see yourself as a Master of Determination and Persistence and
Second to decide at your core never to give up until you have accomplished what it is you want.

1.     Repeating Efforts. Sometimes we give up before we succeed and wonder why we did not achieve the desired result. Now think of four ways you can continue making the task more adventurous, exciting and less boring. Is there something you need to systematise or make simpler?

2.     Are you repeating things and not getting results? Then change strategies. Now think of new strategies that might work if you change your entire outlook.


3.     Look to see who gets better results than you. Model the best but don't forget yourself.

People have many different takes on what it is that gives us a good life; some will say love, shelter and sustenance and although these are the basic prerequisites for a beginning there are those who think this is only the beginning.

It is impossible to say anything for certain as each of us is so unique that to do so would be trite, pointless and having no practical application whatsoever. In this Western world of ours the priorities seem so alien to the so-called developing nations; the priorities of those people have not changed in millennia; they are still food, water and shelter. A few come to mind and of course please add others as everyone has different experiences, different input, different approaches. There are a few key ingredients which can have a very powerful impact on our "future," so to speak.

Anything Worth Doing Takes Time

Accomplishing any goal or life pursuit has a few phases. One is deciding to do it, another is determining what specific actions are required and in what order and then finally executing those actions.
 
It’s helpful to remember that out of 100 people who choose to do something, about 80% will give up well before any chance of success is imminent. One reason is that they do not have an effective plan. Out of those 20 that are left, approximately 16 will fail just because they stop “the doing.” So we’re left with about 4, that is 4% of those that started.

Is your Chrome browser running like crap due to Flash-based ads and whatnot?  Here's a quick fix with no add-ons or extensions.

1. Click the Wrench Icon and go down and click "Settings".
2. Find and click "Show Advanced Settings".
3. Find and click the "Content Settings" button.
4. Scroll down to Plug-ins and change the check box to "Click to Play".
5. Restart Chrome and you're good to go.

This will stop Flash-based ads/apps from running until you click them.  This, I have found, will speed up Chrome enough to make a difference on certain sites.  

P.S.  I saw someone post about this yesterday, but I forgot who, otherwise I would credit them for sharing this.
