I'm now taking pre-orders for my new book Classic Arts & Crafts Furniture: 14 Timeless Designs. Books should be shipping in about a month, and you can be among the first to own a signed copy. You'll also be directly supporting the author if you purchase it from my website.

Question about gMail: Is gMail having problems?

The reason I ask: I think I should be receiving more mail than I have been seeing in the last few days. I am checking other things, as I recently also renewed my Avast! Pro anti-virus protection suite.

I am checking the virus Vault, etc., to try and determine what might be going on. I appreciate any and all input. Thanks!

I am still waiting for my email notification to pick up Glass. However, I realize many people who signed up during Google I/O last year have not received their unit yet. I can wait...yes, I can...OK - maybe not much longer, +Project Glass  :)

My Adventure Teaching with Glass

As a Glass Explorer, my goal is to transform the way I teach science, making every moment a teachable moment. With the help of +CERN and +Project Glass, I've begun pursuing my goal in the most spectacular way - teaching a class of physics students from halfway around the world while touring the Large Hadron Collider. I'm so excited to share this incredible adventure with you.

+Robert Lang  never worried about what rag to use to wipe down his tools!

Robert, did your projects ever turn out OK?.........

Of course they did! And his old (ancient!) set of chisels looks pretty much like a set I use. So...ummm...what?

Most of my project have turned out OK, for that matter - thank you very much. Get busy, make "stuff", take good care of your tools, but DO NOT get obsessive about it. DO care about your projects.

KUDOS, +Google+ and +Project Glass. Nobody needs to put up with foul language!

While others might wish Google would not "censor" foul language in Glass, I welcome it. I am exposed to it daily in the press, online, and on the little TV I catch every now and then.

My granddaughters don't need exposure to foul language. I don't believe you should be, either. Simple. Straight-forward. Nice.

The day seems to be getting closer. Or is it mostly hype? You draw your own conclusion. Are you standing by, waiting for others to comment or test? What are you doing about this technology? What should I do about it?

It seems it will be best to embrace such new technology, help develop it, and partake in the future. Will you also embrace it?

I am interested in learning your reasons, either way.

I was blown away by the 17th Century craftsmanship and the total workmanship in this church, completed in 1652. I tried linking the web site in English, but it seems only the Polish link works. Once at the web site, click on each of the images, sit back, and navigate in 3D.

Edit to add: The link takes you directly to the English web site!

Jan Zięba has done an amazing job documenting amazing architectural treasures around the globe. Jan specializes in panoramic photography, with the motto "the world is wider than ordinary pictures".

I might add that Jan's photography is stunning; you can zoom in on details that would not normally not be accessible to an ordinary visitor. I have no idea how this is done, other than I love it. And I love the treasures documented in Jan's photography.

What else will be found before the 2015 date for the study mentioned in this report? It appears looks like there IS a strong link between Roundup and Parkinson's, certain cancers, and other diseases.

I hope we do not have to wait until related cases get to the Supreme Court again!

Note: My thanks to everyone. You are the BEST! What a wonderful support net we have!

I cannot go to bed without saying a huge THANK YOU to everyone who prayed and shared my post about our missing granddaughter. She has been found safe, and is being interviewed by the local police department.

The support net we have available to us is great, friends. Thank you for your wonderful thoughts, wishes, and shares. I hope I can return my thanks in some small way in the future, should you ever find yourselves in our shoes.

We hope to get some rest. There is always tomorrow, and hopes for a brighter day. My best wishes to everyone!

For +Michael Agate - My fail-safe methods for miter joints for boxes and picture frames.

1. Michael, I made this sled to solve the problem with boxes. I get "perfect" miters every time, using the table saw. It features a removable insert.

2. And a second jig to cut miters on picture frames, etc. It follows Gary Rogawski's details.

And finally, when I'm in the mood, I use an old Millers Falls 1285C miter box:

A question for Glass Developers: Is it, or will it be, possible to snap time-lapse photos with Glass? Will it be possible? Or will human commands be necessary?

I imagine issuing the following command: "ok glass - take a picture every 2 seconds".

Is it possible?

Is there a solution for +Robert Scoble's mic issue? Recording someone else during an interview is marginal at best.

Is anyone looking at this issue yet? It will be interesting to learn what work is going on to solve this problem:

I wonder if any other woodworkers were selected by Google to participate in the #glassexplorers  program. Please let me know.

As the time to receive a pair of Google Glass gets closer, I wonder if anyone here would be interested in the feel of using Glass to share a woodworking experience (for example, doing the joinery from the Glass wearer's perspective). Dovetails, finger joints, making boxes - does any of this interest the Community? Anything in the shop? Shop tours, live chats, etc.?

Thanks!
