In the past, I avoided hacking enemy portals because of the low drop rates. However, things seem to have changed recently, hacking has been much better, especially with "special" items like the Jarvis virus. (I hacked 2 in about 30 attempts yesterday) Anyone else notice this?
Maybe enemy portals have less quantity, but more quality?

Fyi...if you drop ALL of your old shields, force sync, pick them back up, voila, new shields. :-)

Why do I get a key every 2nd or 3rd hack at this portal, and about 1 key per 8 hacks at most others? Ingress seems to be a big tease when it comes to keys I really need.

Milky Way above Easter Island
 
Why were the statues on Easter Island built? No one is sure. What is sure is that over 800 large stone statues exist there. The Easter Island statues, stand, on the average, over twice as tall as a person and have over 200 times as much mass. Few specifics are known about the history or meaning of the unusual statues, but many believe that they were created about 500 years ago in the images of local leaders of a lost civilization. In this picture, some of the stone giants were illuminated in 2009 under the central band of our +Milky Way Galaxy.

A new way to view files in Google Drive

Beginning today, Google Drive will let you quickly preview more than 30 file types and quickly flip between files until you find the one you want. 

From the preview window, you can click on the side arrows to flip to other files, watch video files or scroll through multi-page documents. You can even select and copy text from the preview -- even for a PDF. And you have one-click access to share, download, print or open a file for editing.

My favourite portal
This portal is located in Shediac, NB, Canada, which is on the Northumberland Strait coastline. Shediac claims to be the Lobster Capital of the world, and I just happen to love lobster!  Chilly by the water today, but still good for hacking.

The most efficient way of capturing an enemy portal.
1. Whenever possible, park your car at the extreme edge of the portal range.
2. Walk to centre of portal.
3. Drop your heavy XMP's first, until all the "weak side" resonators are dead.
4. Then move towards the remaining (strongest resonator) resonators using smaller XMP's until they are all dead.
5. Then run to your car to place the resonators maximum circumference around the portal.  (it's really friggin cold here)


I am level 7, and use atleast half of the XMP's compared to standing over each resonator.

What do you think? Got a better method?

I don't understand why the resonator colours have to be so similar, in the field it is very difficult to differentiate pink/red/purple/etc. There are other colours...
