Question of the Day
If you were asked to change the world, what would you change first?
I’d overhaul education!

[Think learning the Periodic Table of Elements is useless? This girl used it to execute the ultimate troll.]
As a scientist and hip-hop enthusiast, I applaud this girl's brilliant subversion. Click to see the hidden message cleverly disguised as nerdery in her yearbook quote.

EU and US 'in biggest trade deal'
So, if we leave the EU, we'll end up losing out on a slice of a $100Bn pie?
I think it's time for Euroskeptics to take another look...

This weekend, my son and I caught a couple of episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man.
So far, the show is a lot of fun! I love the cut-away scenes, and the little chibi (if that's the right word) bits.
I'm glad I never read the +IMDb reviews, though... They are harsh, and miss the whimsicality of the show.

"Create education better."
In her defense, there was a time when I hosted local pageants. Perfectly lucid young women would freeze when asked a simply question.
It's still funny.

Question of the Day
How do you handle the death of a friend?
Until yesterday, I’d lost very few friends, and only one who was purely an online friend.
Yes, there were other online acquaintances that have passed, but only one who was close.
Now he is joined by another.
There is a very unique pain that comes with losing someone that you've only known via a computer screen. In some ways, and especially on the more writing oriented networks, the friendships are stronger than an offline relationship in that a person is discovered almost as if by reading their diary.
There are less preconceptions, and a bigger window to understanding.
I have found that my reaction to the loss of a friend is to become quietly contemplative of what I have learnt from that friend. Lessons in how to do things, and how not to do other things.
