Around Albuquerque - We don’t just wave our hands around and make vague suggestions in Albuquerque. We communicate with absolute accuracy! Or maybe the sign manufacturer ran out of the digits “0″ and “5″, forcing them to get creative. But then again, this could be the result of a late-night political argument within the city council, resulting in a two-in-the-morning compromise so everyone could go home! Hmmmm. My best guess? This was one of the city’s early attempts to provide “synchronized traffic lights”. :-) I dunno. Your guess is as good as mine.

Because I'm always fearful of making commitments I would later regret... have pretty much convinced myself to ditch my grandfathered Flickr Pro account and just go with their free offering.  I can't imagine ever hitting the 1 TB  ceiling.  Any words of wisdom before I pull the trigger?  What have other Flickr Pro account holders decided to do?

Seeking Critiques - Roadside Abandoned Building

OK, gang.  Probably the first time I am openly asking for critiques and assistance.  Driving through rural Texas a few weeks ago, I passed this abandoned house sitting on a corner.  Quickly did a U-turn so I could go back and grab some photos.

Now, a reality when I am on the road is that I am not patient at all.  Grab camera, jump out of car, shoot a few angles rapidly, get back in car, and get back on the road.  Although I don't know what other vantage points I would have tried.

This album contains some uncropped shots from the three main vantage points I used.  Was never really satisfied with my cropping/processing result.  My final considerations were a "full size" B&W conversion, and then a wide-crop final that I ended up going with (seen in the post below this one).

Morning gplus frustration.  :)  How the $#*!!! do you remove a tag of yourself from a photo?  I have an old profile photo -- one that I posted -- that I apparently tagged myself in.  Directions in the help documentation say "If you want to remove existing name tags, click on a photo under the Photos you've been tagged in section and click the x next to your name."  I don't see my name anywhere, much less an "x".  Anyone?  Bueller?

Irish Coffee of the Beast - The gentleman sitting across the table ordered an Irish Coffee. When it arrived, the symbol “666″ was clearly visible floating on its surface. I knew this had to be a terrible omen; a warning of things to come. Either that or it was just some fancy decoration the bartender put there. Hmmmm… maybe that was it.

TEXAS!  Will be headed that way in the middle of the week, and could use pointers to goofy roadside attractions or nice photo-ops between Albuquerque and Austin. Things like giant walnut sculptures, location markers where something really mundane happened, or areas that are obviously picturesque. (We can skip the Cadillac Ranch this time around.)   Any suggestions?  What are your favorite cheesy roadside locations?  :)

Seriously confused and frustrated with the new management of photos, albums, and sharing.  I have an album called "Photos from posts" that gives me an error if I try to open it.  I assume somebody has written a decent set of "lessons learned" about this?  The few I have found were simply Google advertisement things that skipped these details. Ah-HA!  So what they told me was correct.  Photoshop World does run twice a year, with a Vegas thing coming up in September.  Will consider going to this, even though I've never been, and even though the photo thing is just a hobby.  But it looks kinda valuable and fun at the same time.  (Plus I get a roadtrip out of it!)
