This one's a beauty.  The coal train that runs from my house to WVa is sometimes a steam train.  This isn't it, but looks a lot like it.  Love these things.  I used to hobo on them when I was a kid.  It would take us up the mountain where we would go swimming and fishing in the crick.

This one reminded me of the one we used to hitch a ride on sometimes.

While attending the Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown, TX. I ran across a vendor that sells Goats Milk Soaps and products and ended up with some Billy Goat Scruff Shaving Soap. I love the way it smelled. Light and Soapy and maybe a hint of almond. Running my fingers across the top of the dry soap for a few seconds it seemed to just get slicker. I did finally get around to working up a lather and shaving with it. Not one bit disappointed.

I did everything wrong. I shaved without taking a hot shower first, I didn't use preshave oil, I didn't soak my brush (a cheap no name scritchy boar) and soften the bristles, I used cold water. I just put a little water on the soap, got my brush wet and went to town loading my brush for about 30 seconds, then whipped up a lather in a second bowl. I didn't mean to go further than that, I just wanted to see how it lathered under poor conditions and with... more »

I just put a little water on the soap, got my brush wet and went to town loading my brush for about 30 seconds, then whipped up a lather in a second bowl. I didn't mean to go further than that, I just wanted to see how it lathered under poor conditions and with my limited experience with soaps (I usually use creams my fave being TOBS Avacodo) well anyway I after getting a lather I placed it on my face and my brush didn't feel all scritchy like normal, WOW, simply WOW was all I could think. So why not try shaving. Man this stuff is slick, the blade moved freely no catching or dragging and with plenty of cushion. It didn't load up between the blade and the safety bar and rinsed out easily. I was thinking about using this soap in a PIF on one of the forums I am a member of after trying it for a week. But NO, I'm going to keep this one around for a while, this may become my daily go to soap. I like it that much.

Here is another review of it written by somebody that is a more eloquent than I am and a hell-uv-a lot more experienced  http://www.nuluvgoatmilkproducts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Nuluv-Shaving-Soap.pdf

and here is link to the homepage for NuLuv Goats Milk Products. If you look through my timeline, you will see that I don't often read "never" post links to products http://www.nuluvgoatmilkproducts.com/shop/

I do recommend following the links and trying some of this out. ___

Sky Dance - Photography by +Artur Stanisz  www.arturstanisz.com This photo comes from one of my favourite locations in the Garibaldi Park in British Columbia, Canada. As the summer ends, I usually decide to visit the Black Tusk area (Black Tusk showcased on the photo) and explore its incredible potential for photo/adventure tours. The Black Tusk itself is a 2319 metres high, spectacular stratovolcano pinnacle rock. The area is one of the most geologically diverse places and offers unmatched range of photo opportunities. Within 2 hours of hike you can see blooming flowers, semi dessert Moon-like landscape with bare rocks as well as glacier. This photo was taken at sunset, about 200 m from my camp for the night. I was hiking around looking for composition. The sky was getting slowly darker and I didn't have much of a hope for good light. When I decided to give this composition a try I noticed some... more »

When I decided to give this composition a try I noticed some pink hues slowly emerging on the sky. After few shots taken for flowers in the foreground the light on the sky started to dance. The whole show lasted only for a few minutes. So here it is: the "Sky Dance."

Redesigning your website? Your SEO doesn't need to suffer.

"The process of redesigning a website can be worrying when you have invested time and effort on search engine optimization, but this need not be the case. In fact, a website redesign can provide the perfect opportunity to improve your site’s visibility. "

I love the idea of performing a technical #SEO audit of a current website before starting the redesign process.

1. URL duplication

SEO Tip of the day

"The majority of companies are not using video in any way that provides any real ROI.  Just to clarify, simply knowing the number of people that clicked on your video is not a measurement of ROI.  It’s just a measurement of the number of people who clicked the button to watch video.  From that data, it isn't clear how much of the video they watched." - +Jayson Duncan

Return on investment (ROI) is an important concept when considering the success of online video marketing activity.

For me the first step to this success is looking at the demographics.
It is all about getting views from the right people, not just people. When you are scripting and filming your video, you are always thinking about a specific audience so demographics dimensions will help you understand if you have succeeded in your intentions. It may even give you new ideas for business development.

The second step should be length of plays vs completed plays.
Look at your view count and you can rapidly learn about the true quality of your videos. Thousands of views account for nothing if viewers clicked away after watching only 10 seconds of your 2 minute video.

YouTube Analytics is a free tool to help you with :

1. Discover how audiences find your videos
2. See what captivates viewers
3. Understand watch sessions
4. Learn about your subscribers

A Universal SEO Strategy Audit in 5 Steps

When it comes to building an SEO strategy, many marketers and entrepreneurs (especially those who don't spend a significant amount of time with SEO) start off by asking a few key questions.

That's a good start, but only if you're asking the right questions.

In today's +Whiteboard Friday, +Rand Fishkin  showing us the five things we should really be looking into when formulating our SEO strategy:
1. What keywords do you want to rank for?

2. How do we get links?

3. Site speed. Mobile? Doesn't even seem like a question.

4. What about Penguin and Panda?

5. When do I get money?

Know your audience, before giving advice

Seeing a picture of David Bowie made me think of an old boss I had worked with a while ago. Not because my boss looked like Bowie but because of an experience we shared.

Flying back from a job overseas I had to sit in business, my boss (George) sat in first class. After the flight, George waited in his seat until I was up to him to deboard the plane. I asked him how his flight went and while waiting an unusually long time to get off the plane, he eventually worked his way around to a conversation he had with young man that was seated next to him, after bragging about the job he just completed he asked the stranger "so what do you do?" the stranger said " Oh I sing and play a little guitar" My boss told this stranger "that was all well and good but maybe he oughta settle down and get a real job to support your wife... more »

After we finally got off the plane we had to work our way through a crowd waving banners and people collecting autographs George turned to me laughing and said "that's the bum I sat next to on the flight, who I told to get a real job" It was David Bowie___
