Over the past 12 months I've been forcing myself to use only a mobile device to produce and edit artwork, for mobile platforms that is. Where I would normally use Photoshop and a Desktop, I've been trying to only use the iPhone. It's a really big challenge, but also a lot of fun.

Here's my Dreamboat Series. Some very simple, two layer edits, not really well done, but I do love them! Each involves a mobile photo of a boat, (sometimes the same boat) and another of a sunset or sky, that I have flipped 180 in-order to give a surrealistic feel to two normal photos. I love the way the sky becomes water, through the brain's association methods.. just a simple flip, but a nice effect.

One of may favorite subjects to shoot with a mobile phone, would have to be Seagulls. Freezing them in time, just seems to capture their intriguing little characters and personalities in ways I never expected. Take a minute to check their expressions and body language.. if you like animals, and a giggle, you won't be disappointed.

All shot with iPhone using Pro Camera or Kit Cam apps and a pre-set/locked focus.. and a lot of chips! #mobilephotography   #stuffseagullsdo

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd drop in a BTS Mobile Photo I just took of +Mia Glastonbury doing her perspective thing. She's always taking shots of herself, so I try to capture that!

That's an iPhone 5, inside a LifeProof case, on a cheap tripod, (because we're always dunking it in the water and mud) using a Joby GripTight Mount.

I took this shot with the KitCam app, and used a Google Plus filter.

Short focus, floating, feathers. Shooting with iPhone.

To achieve this in #mobilephotography, you'll need to lock the focus and exposure, on an object, close to the lens, before you hold it just above the water.

Holding the phone upside-down, allows you to get the lens right down near the surface. Then press the shutter when your subject is the same distance from the lens, that the object was when you locked the focus earlier.

Ever wandered what sun-beams/rays are?

They're under the category of Atmospheric Optics, and they're actually called Crepuscular Rays.

They occur when there's enough mass in the atmosphere to reflect light, (in this case it's fog) and the beams show due to other, thicker, mass, in the the air, reducing light-flow, and creating shadows. 

I took this shot recently, over Lindisfarne Bay, in Tasmania.

Brief Olloclip Review

Some of you may not know that I'm an independent blogger/Contributing Editor to Ink361.com. So, I'll be sharing, some of the Mobile Photography tutorials, and reviews, I produce for +Ink361. Hopefully you guys find them helpful, and interesting! Here's one I did last night, on the olloclip. BTW, on the first att. image 1, 2, and 3, at the top, are examples of iPhone lens, olloclip wide-angle, then fish-eye.

The olloclip slides over the iPhone’s rear camera, allowing you to adjust it to fish-eye, wide-angle, or macro. Mia and I have been using these lenses for a couple of years now and have found them to be a great addition, and must-have, for our mobile photography kits.

Here's some splash photography I like to call #Liquidography. These shots are all taken with the iPhone using a third party camera app (here, I used KitCam www.kitcamapp.com) that allows me to lock the focus. Basically, I lock the focus, and exposure, then move down to the water, hold the phone in one hand, a stick in the other, and splash away while capturing with rapid fire. I love seeing water out of it's element and frozen in time!

My co-host,@tatum22 and I, are announcing the Instagram #silhouette_photo_challenge , sponsored by @olloclip and @JobyInc, who are giving away an olloclip lens and a GripTight SmartPhone tripod to the best shot.

I recently created a small Levitation Photography tutorial on INK361's blog which caused quite a few people to be confused about my lack of editing. It seems, that a lot of people were unhappy that I didn't show them how to edit. The funny thing was, this was a tutorial on capturing and working with a model in the best ways to make your jump look like a "levitation" not how to edit things out or into place.
