In my view, the idea of this Summly app is actually hugely important, and I have been questioning why e.g. Twitter and G+ have not gone this route, especially for their mobile apps. Twitter especially before the #NewTwitter redesign could have easily pulled out an RSS-like text import of a link directly into its Web UI (right-hand pane) or for the mobile app.
