This passage gives us (at least) five tips for Christian life.  Do you practice these tips for Christian life? What would you add? http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/5-tips-for-christian-life.html

From time to time we all need to have a Genesis week from the chaos of our lives. Instead of throwing us out with the trash, God restores us. Instead of failing to breath holiness in us, God brings us back from gray living. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/10/goodbye-for-gray-living.html

Have you recently experienced a power outage? It sure changes perspective on things. But how would it feel to live without God’s power? If you have never experienced God’s power you don’t know what you are missing. But when you are used to have it and then there is a spiritual power outage, you hopefully realize how important part of your life God really is.  http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/10/spiritual-power-outage.html

Do you know how wide, how long, how high, and how deep God's love is? I hope you, at least, have had a glimpse of it. Even a glimpse of God's love will knock your socks off. There's nothing like it. And there's nothing better. Don't take my word for it. Read what David wrote in one of his psalms. http://buff.ly/1wdb5MH

If we are told (outer motivation) to behave or believe in certain ways, we are unlikely to meet those expectations. But if we have personally encountered Jesus (inner motivation), we follow his guidance with gladness. That's why we should not force rules and regulations on others. We should let Jesus change people according to his plan. http://buff.ly/1sWM1f7

Why do we not quit believing? Because when we meet God, everything changes. When we encounter the Living God, nothing else matters. Because it's the real deal. God breaths life into us. He saves, soothes, sustains. He guides us home. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2012/10/why-do-we-not-quit-believing.html

Why do we so often detain grace? We push it away and are determined to succeed on our own. We think of it as our last resource and are certain we will have time to make reservations for eternity. But what if life gets in the way and we simply forget? What if we don't have as much time as we think we do? Why then do we so often detain grace? We push it away and are determined to succeed on our own. We think of it as our last resource and are certain we will have time to make reservations for eternity. Do you know how to live carefree? Would you like to live carefree? I think we all do. Stress-free living would be lovely, don't you think? But most often we think carefree living is meant for children only. That's not true. At least, if we think of childhood as a stage of life. But it is true for God's children who learn to trust God's care. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/10/how-to-live-carefree.html

Deep down in our hearts, I think, we all want to run with the horses but too often we let the messiness of everyday life stop us and we settle. We all want purpose and meaning but we let the broken washing machines and chickenpox drag us down. We all want to be adventuresome but we let the obstacles and difficulties keep us away from living our lives to the fullest.  http://www.flowingfaith.com/2012/10/called-to-fulfilling-lives.html

Last week I read an online article about how we should not do things we love every day. Like if you love ice cream, you should not eat it every day if you don't want it to become just an emotionless habit. But there's one exception for this rule, I think. The rule does not apply to Bible-reading. Because the more we read the Bible, the more we desire to read it. The more we digest the Word of God, the more fulfilled we become. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/10/let-the-bible-wow-you.html

The difference between happiness and blessedness comes very clear in the times of trouble. Happiness and brokenness don't go hand in hand. But blessedness and brokenness live well together. God offers to help us whenever we are in trouble. No prerequisites, no holiness requirements. We just need to plead for help. Blessed are who run to God. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2011/10/happiness-vs-blessedness.html

Are you in dire need of inner cleansing of your soul? You’re blessed because God is calling your name. God is opening his arms wide open and welcoming you home. There’s nothing that brings the Father more joy than welcoming his children back home. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/10/healing-from-the-inside-out.html

Are you tired of waiting for God's answers? I know how you're feeling. But our feelings of desolation does not mean God has abandoned us. When we are devastated, God is nearer than we can imagine. These silent seasons of the soul are part of our journey. We don't need to understand. We can just trust that God is at work even when we feel he doesn't care. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2012/09/through-the-silent-seasons.html

Few years ago I read an interview with a retiring bishop. He was asked what he would like to be remembered by. He said that it’s not important that he would be remembered. But he hopes people would remember that God is good. Amen to that! It’s not really about us, it’s about God! Because God is good – all the time! http://buff.ly/1DZeu7o

Traveling light is one of the tricks to endure on any journey. This is especially important to Christian pilgrims wanting to make it all the way home one day. The journey itself is hard enough, no extra baggage needed to drag us down. Especially when the help is near and readily available for anyone. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/traveling-light.html ‎

Are you tired of the news lately? Or are you avoiding the all together? Because they are so depressing and devastating? Or do you have a powerful urge to run to the other direction and pretend the bad things don't exist? Denial does not work. But there is another option.  http://buff.ly/1vneYz2

Are you frustrated, anxious, angry? It's time to spend some time with Jesus! I've come to experience this time after time. Whenever I find myself off-kilter, I realize I've not spend enough time in prayer and scripture reading.

Do you keep God at arm's length? Is your relationship with God a long-distance one? Or do you have an intimate and close relationship with God? Is knowing God really possible? Yes, because of Jesus it is. Because of Jesus we can be made right with God. But the adventure of faith does not end there, it's just a beginning. The real adventure is in getting to know God. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/knowing-god.html ‎

Pay attention who you listen to.
Only Jesus can teach us to feel right in our own skin.
Only Jesus can teach us how to live freely and lightly.
Only Jesus can teach us walk humbly with God.
Only Jesus can teach us the unforced rhythms of grace.
Only Jesus.

Do you think the blood of Christ is too precious for you? That you think so highly of the blood of Christ that you don't dare to apply it to you and your sins? That you and yours problems are too small to bother Jesus? Slow down for a minute. Let's think this through. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/is-the-blood-o…t-too-precious.html

Do you try make yourself a better person? Or do you trust God work in you to make you a person of grace? There's a world of difference between those two ways of life.

Self-strength stages an illusion. God creates life.
Self-effort causes stress. Jesus provides salvation.
Self-help brings exhaustion. The Holy Spirit brings peace.

Have you ever wondered why you don't make any spiritual progress? You've been diligent with spiritual practices and attended faithfully church functions but nothing happens? Sometimes we are lead to desert and that's ok. There are different seasons in faith life too. But make sure that you don't ignore the most important aspect of your spiritual life: the Holy Spirit. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/the-holy-spirit-the-difference-maker.html

Are you alert to the ways of God and ready for Jesus? Are you heeding the gospel and living it out every way you can? Are you helping others along the way? Good for you. Then you are right where God wants you to be. But if you are not satisfied where you are spiritually, now it's time to make a change. You don't want to abandon the living God. You do not want to become spiritually dull and not be ready for Jesus. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/heed-gospel.html

Following Christ does not mean uptight-living. It’s not about rules & regulations. Following Christ is upright-living instead. It’s about honoring God in everything we do, embracing God’s love & grace & living in joy & hope no matter what. It’s about holding the word of God fast in a sincere & upright heart & sticking with it until the harvest. It’s about resolving to abide in Christ through thick & thin &, by the grace of God, maturing & bearing fruit.  http://buff.ly/WZfQNV

Do you know how you can have your sins washed away? It's one of the most important things to know, don't you think? Of course, you need to first acknowledge that you are a sinner. But aren't we all? I, at least, don't know any one person who would be so perfect and holy that there would not be any trace of sin in him/her.  http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/sins-washed-away.html ‎

When we give our dead, rotten things to God to be buried, he resurrects something amazingly beautiful. We can't do it. But God can. This is what resurrection living is all about. Death is not what it seems because of Christ. Our messy lives are not an obstacle for God. Because God is in business of renewal. He wants to give us a far better life than we could ever live on our own. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2012/09/redeeming-regrets.html

Do you have weird dreams? What do you do with them? God has been speaking  to his children through dreams from the beginning (the Genesis). What should we know about dreams today? I am not an expert dream interpreter but I want to share a practical way to deal with bad dreams. It's not magic, it's not a secret but unfortunately in today's world fewer and fewer Christians know about/use it. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2011/09/what-to-do-with-bad-dreams.html

Are you expecting divine fireworks to see God at work in your life? Just like how Moses on Sinai got to experience God in exciting ways? Sometimes it happens that way. But most often it does not. I am not saying that God does not move  mightily in today's world. I am saying God did not move always that way thousands of years ago either. Let's see, for example, how Elijah experienced God's presence. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/experience-god-in-different-ways.html

What if instead of people asking  'how are you doing?', they asked 'how is your prayer life?'
That would tell us much more of a person's well-being, don't you think? If our prayer life is robust, we are well in Christ. If our prayer life is hit by a dry spell, we are not doing that well. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2012/09/persistent-prayer.html

Often I am asked how to be faithful in the Christian walk. People think there is some sort of magical formula that you need to know. But, no, there isn’t. The Christian walk is far easier than that. It’s about waking up in the morning and greeting God with “Good morning, Daddy! What do you want me to do today?” and ending our day with “Thank you, Jesus!”. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/09/how-to-be-faithful-in-the-christian-walk.html ‎

I would like to be a person recalled by my work of faith, my labor of love, and my patience of hope in following Jesus. But - I am afraid - I fail badly. This has bothered me lately. I've been rereading Micah 6:8 over and over again. This used to be a very straight-forward, life-giving and freeing verse to me. This is all God requires you to do, I heard. But now I think differently. It's not little and it's not easy that we are required to do.  http://buff.ly/W15rko

Sometimes we think God or faith is out of our reach but they aren't. God wants to be found. God wants to pour out grace upon grace on us. God gives us as much faith as we want, he just leaves the choice to us. We can either receive or reject his gifts. Faith is not out of our reach. Faith is for everyone who loves God with heart and soul. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/08/not-out-of-our-reach.html

Have you ever been so severely crushed that you thought you're never going to recover? Have you been in such a storm that you thought you're never going to make it?
I've been there. But because of God's mighty grace I made it. Most people don't even guess I'd ever experienced anything so publicly humiliating and personally devastating.

As you probably know, there's no false advertising in the Bible. The Bible promises us difficulties, right? But that's not the end of the story. The Bible also promises us (among other things) that God will always be with us. But in order to be strong in and through upcoming difficulties, we need to be built up in the Lord. Only when we abide in Jesus, we are ready for faithful living whatever the future brings. Why then do we not do that? ...

It's not about us making ourselves perfect or useful. It's not about us producing fruit. It's not about us making ourselves worthy. Success does not get us into the kingdom of God, failure does not keep us out of there. The only thing than matters is our trust in Jesus.

Change is inevitable. Change happens all the time, sometimes we are able to notice it, sometimes not. Yet it happens all the time, it's part of life whether we like it or not. Change can be overwhelming and frightful because we can't control it. And that seems to be the root of all fear. We don't want to lose control. What to do then? http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/08/how-to-cope-with-change.html

Do you know what we are supposed to do until Jesus comes back? Are we just going to hang around? Or does it matter how we spend our time here on earth? Yes, it does matter. We are called to follow Christ, introduce our friends and family to Jesus and do as much good as possible. We are called to be Christ to the world. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/08/until-jesus-comes-back.html

Are you well equipped for your faith journey? Do you have enough tools to tend your faith along the way? Is your spiritual arsenal big enough to fight the good fight of faith?

These faith tools are as important tools as any visible tools we use in our everyday lives. We need farming equipments, kitchen utensils, office supplies. But so do we need these God-tools. What could these faith tools then be?

'Go tell it to the mountains' was the first thing that went through my mind when I learned this week's Five minute Friday prompt was 'tell'. We are indeed commanded to go and tell everyone that Jesus has come for each of us. But are we really living out this command? How does is show in our everyday life? Ouch.  http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/08/hot-to-maintain-your-saltiness.html

God is more than able.
God is more than willing.
God is more than we dare to imagine.
God is calling us...
... to daring belief and life.
... to trust him in everything.
... to wait for good because he is good.
How would "daring belief and life" look on you?

It's time for new beginnings but it's also time to evaluate the old ways. Am I living the way God wants me to live? That's the question of the day for me. I am praying that God would show me what needs to go in order to serve him better. We are to give our lives as living sacrifices to God. http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/08/spiritual-questions.html ‎

This summer has been so wonderful. We are totally satisfied & filled with joyful memories & ready to move on. This made me think of a few Bible passages that states how Abraham, Isac, David, Joash & Job who all 'died old & satisfied'. They must've lived their lives to the fullest. No wonder they were ready to move on. That's how we all want to live & die, I think. How? http://www.flowingfaith.com/2014/08/live-and-die-satisfied.html
