Google Play Music:  Saving music to external sd card?
Some have already found this out; some haven't.  Either way, here's what Google has to say about those tunes you cache to your device when you pin them.
For some, this may be disappointing especially if you use a 3rd party media player.  For others, as well as those such as myself that use Google Play Music, it's not going to matter.

Why wouldn't you use Google Play Music?  What media player do you prefer?  Why?

Hangouts, phone calls and Google Voice

Thanks for all of your feedback on last week's Hangouts launch. I wanted to quickly talk about 1) making/receiving phone calls in Gmail, and 2) Google Voice support more generally.

1) Today's version of Hangouts doesn't yet support outbound calls on the web and in the Chrome extension, but we do support inbound calls to your Google Voice number. We're working hard on supporting both, and outbound/inbound calls will soon be available. In the meantime, you can continue using Google Talk in Gmail.

2) Hangouts is designed to be the future of Google Voice, and making/receiving phone calls is just the beginning. Future versions of Hangouts will integrate Google Voice more seamlessly.

Yahoo Buying Tumblr for $1bn?

Winning over young users to Yahoo! has been a priority for +Marissa Mayer during her tenure as CEO, but so far its user base remains largely older. With Tumblr becoming more popular with teens than Facebook, an acquisition could immediately help turn things around for the fading tech giant, if they don't manage to kill it like they did Flickr. (Yahoo! does seem to love acquiring social networks that end with an 'r' preceded by a consonant, don't they?)

Awesome tip for the +Google+ team: Give us the option to route our Hangouts messages/convos to our Stream, as well as SMS msgs.

Give them their own card in the Stream rather than a separate chat box...

WOW! Hangouts can answer your calls! Normal voice calls will open up a hangout window.

The first pic is what you'll see on Google+ conversation list. The other is a notification I got via the Notification center (via Canary w/ Rich Notifications enabled), and it works well.

Everything in one place.  No need for a new app; just use G+ as the hub.  SMS, MMS, phone calls, phone contacts as well as G+ contacts, file sharing, Hangouts...

Google Hangouts: My review

Let me go on the record now & say I realize they'll most likely continue to integrate more into this, blah, blah, blah.... I get it.  I do. 
Here's the deal-e-o:  Why were all the Google communication apps being hyped as being finally unified into one, all encompassing app when it clearly is not all encompassing & unified?  
On my Nexus 4's dock I have a folder  that contains the Phone app, Messaging, Hangouts (Gtalk), Google Voice, & G+ Messenger.  All Hangouts is (as of 5/16/13) is a castrated version Google Talk.  What did it unify?
I give out my Google Voice # pretty much exclusively because that single number rings all my devices now matter which one I'm using at the moment.  Before, if I wanted to text someone I would either hit Messaging or Google Voice, 99% of the time being GV.  Didn'tuse GV t... more »

Okay. So apparently I got hyped up & it's merely a merging of Talk & G+ Messenger:/
Don't get me wrong; this is a great step in the right direction, but I really was expecting it to combined Voice, Messaging, & el telefono......................
